Chit Chat Wednesday | New Review Series You Need To Know About!

Hey, guys! Sorry I have been absent for so long, my father-in-law came to visit a while. I really wanted to blog, but he seriously took up all of my time. No worries though, I'm back and with a new review series at that!

From this point forward you may notice some of my reviews say "one minute review". That means the review will have 250 words or less, which basically means everyone can read it in a minute or so.

Most of the reviews will be products that I don't have much to say about. Maybe, a lipgloss or eyeliner, whatever. I may even do this for items that are new, because I feel like anyone who reads a new review will be reading it because they're fixing to make a purchase.

I will have two up this week for two new lip products from the drugstore. Let me know if you like both posts!

This should be handy for you busy gals out there or for when you need a quick reference while you're standing in the middle of the makeup isle. Who has times to read a terribly long review while shopping?!

However, You'll still get everything you need to know from each review.

So how long did it take you to read this post? Probably about a minute right? Well, that's what I was aiming for. If you see reviews with "one minute review" in the title, it will be approximately the size of this post.

Chit Chat Wednesday | The Best And Worst Thing About Your Makeup Routine

Chit Chat Topic: The Best And Worst Thing About Your Makeup Routine

I know we all love makeup, but is there a part of your beauty routine you dread doing? Maybe it's Eye liner, mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick or even brows?

First we'll start of on a positive note, is there anything you love doing? My favorite thing to do is foundation. There's really nothing fun about it but I love seeing the before and after comparison of my coverage. One minute I have acne plastered all over my face and the next, I have an even appearance. It's enjoyable to see the difference foundation can make. Sometimes I sit in the mirror and think to myself, this is what I would look like without acne... Not bad, not bad at all. Haha, just kidding, I'm not that full of myself. But seriously, it would be nice to not have acne. I would definitely feel more confident if it was clear.

The worst thing for me is contouring. I know a lot of people love contouring, and I do too, to some degree. It's just hard to achieve a nice contour when I have to worry about blending away coverage from my foundation. When I chisel my cheek bones I just move around my full coverage foundation and everything ends up looking muddy and uneven. So if I do contour, I really have to pack on my powder to prevent my foundation from moving. It's really no big deal, it's more of a nuisance. Most of the time I end of using bronzer, unless I'm testing out a new contour powder.

So what is your best and worst step of your makeup routine? Let us know in the comments below!

Chit Chat Wednesday | Using Tape For Contouring?

Not too long ago a famous Instagram user, HudaBeauty, uploaded a video of her using tape to cream contour. Supposedly, the tape is used to help place your contour to make it more symmetrical.

Ok, now that my head is finally out of the palm of my hands and my eyes are tired of rolling, let's chit chat about this.

I get that contouring can be tricky and I know it can be hard to get your contour even but I just don't see why this would be a good idea. I love HudaBeauty, don't get me wrong, she's great with makeup. ..However, I think this is a little gimmicky.

I'm sure the tape pulls off foundation and messes up your base. It sure would suck to lift up a $45 foundation and lose coverage. It just seems like too much work for the same look without tape. I do, however, think this may be handy for nose contouring. Sometimes it can be hard to get those lines symmetrical and I'm sure most people don't need much coverage on their nose.

Personally I'm not going to try this. It would be a nightmare to lift the tape just to reveal irritated acne. 😖 I feel like it would take forever to get the tape just right. And I'm sure the bill for tape would dramatically increase, haha. Surely it's just a silly trend that will pass soon but still, I'm sure the beauty community can come up with a better hack... Like, I don't know, baking!

If you do try this let me know how it works out! Maybe it does work, who knows. I'm sure those of you with decent skin might enjoy testing it out.

Reminder: this is a bad idea if you have allergies to any kind of adhesives, etc.

Chit Chat Wednesday | When Brands Mislabel Their Products

You know what really grinds my gears? When cosmetic companies mislabel their products.

The other day I was shopping at the drugstore and I picked up a matte liquid lippie from a brand I trust (I won't point fingers). You'll know who it is in a future review because I'm sure as heck going to mention it regardless of how I feel about the brand. I actually love the brand I'm talking about but it just ticks me off that brands mislead us.

If a lipstick says liquid matte then it should perform like a liquid matte lipstick. I won't go into to details of the product, as I'm sure you're confused about what I'm talking about. However, I know you know what I mean. Why do companies do this? There are going to be reviews of the product, so why lie? Your customers are what makes your company thrive, why would you lie to them?

I just wish companies would be honest about what a product is and how it performs. Did you know companies can say a product lasts for 24 hours just because a trace of that product is still visible? How misleading! We don't want a trace of that so called product, we want it to look the same as it did when we first applied it if it does claim a 24 hour wear. Hello, that's why we purchased it.

Tell me, what products have you purchased that mislead you. It can be the name or claims. Right now I have two new spring releases that have fooled me. Leave a comment below!

Check my snapchat for a sneak peek to see what those products are!

Chit Chat Wednesday | A New Series For Foundation?

Before I first started blogging I was always looking for reviews of foundation by people with acne. I was shocked by how many bloggers/ Vloggers didn't have bad skin. It can be hard to find someone who actually needs coverage! When I did start blogging my goal was to help people see the actual performance of foundation by showing the results on my skin. I can't believe I haven't done this yet.

So here's my proposal.. Would any of you actually like to see this new series? I already have some foundations I'll start out with but anyone can request a foundation. I thought it would be nice to see how all of the foundations out there cover acne/ scars. I'll even let you all know which ones break me out.

This can go however far we take it. Maybe one day it will expand into concealers or correctors.

Right now my plans are to- A. Share the coverage each layer a foundation provides via pictures. B. Inform you of the longevity, finish and if my skin agrees with it. C. Details on the product and how it compares to others. D. What skin type it is best for.

So basically it's a review but usually I like to only review newer products. This series isn't limited to new releases. Any foundation is fair game!

Please leave a comment below letting me know your thoughts or if you have a request! I think this will be a very fun but useful series! Click here to see my last acne update!

Chit Chat Wednesday | $90 Lipstick?

Hey guys! I'm back with another Chit Chat Wednesday. Sorry if I'm a little off my game, I have a really bad sinus headache. But don't worry, I wont let that to get in the way of my blogging today. Chit Chat Wednesday is my favorite post of the week. I'm able to kick it back and just chit chat with you all. ❤️

This weeks topic is Christian Louboutin $90 lipstick. Would you purchase a $90 lipstick?

My answer would definitely have to be a firm no. Even if it's a great lipstick, why spend $90? Other brands have "great lipsticks". Hell, even drugstore brands have great lipsticks. I just cant find any justice for spending $90 on a single lipstick, even if I can wear it as a necklace(btw, people do that with this lipstick)!

I have heard from some people the lipstick is amazing but not worth $90. Yes, the formula is fantastic but you're mainly paying for the brand and packaging... That's it.

It's not going power through the day any better than a Tom Ford lipstick. It's not going to give you the best lips of your life. The shades are not anything special. Just the packaging and brand are the highlights of the lipstick. I say go for a lipstick from Bite Beauty or Maybelline. I bet they're just as good formula wise (if not better).

I do admire the lipstick, though. If you're someone who's willing to pay $90, don't think I'm judging you. Some people judge me for the amount of money I spend on my makeup. We can all do what we please with our money!

So let me know in the comments below what your opinion is. Is $90 just ridiculous or is it justifiable?

Chit Chat Wednesday | If You Could Only Use 6 Makeup Products For A Month What Would You Use?

If you could only use 6 makeup products for a month what would you use?

It's hard to choose but here are my answers:

Foundation because I need to cover my acne.
Concealer because I need to hide my designer under eyes bags.
Powder because if I don't set everything it will move.
Blush because I need to look alive and I can use it as eyeshadow.
Mascara because my eyes need a lift. Mascara could possibly be used as eyeliner , too!
Tinted lip balm because I need hydration and color.

I would hate to live without eyeshadow for a month but I feel like I could do without it. Loading up on mascara is all I need! I will miss bronzer, though. I gotta say I would look like I'm dead without warmth from a bronzer. Heck my nose would even look out of porportion without my usual contouring.  And I would probably cry if I had to skip my fall lipstick colors! Atleast this isn't for real, right

What would your six product be?
Are they the same as mine?

Chit Chat Wednesday | Do you like matte lipstick?

Do you like matte lipstick?

Recently I did a poll on my blog and 60% of you said you prefer satin lipstick over matte. Frankly, I was surprised since matte is such a popular finish in the beauty industry. Every brand out there is releasing new matte formulas since it's so popular. But I do understand why a lot of your are not jumping on the band wagon.

I personally prefer matte lipstick because I like the finish on me. I think they're easier to pull off unless the shade is bright or odd. The only thing I don't like is the moisture level. They tend to dry out my lips sometimes but I can easily fix that with a thin layer of chap stick before application.

My favorite quality about matte lipsticks is the transfer proof wear. I love how I can kiss my boyfriend without giving him pink lips. It's also reassuring to beable to wear a dark lip without worrying about bleeding or smearing.

Chit Chat Wednesday

What do you look for in a holiday palette?

I personally look for multiple products in a sleek palette. My favorite kind of holiday palette includes eye shadows, blushes, bronzers and highlights.. One palette that I'm eager to get my hands on is The Balms "The Balm Of Your Hand" palette. It includes their colt products like Mary-loumanizer, Bahama Mamma and their best eyeshades, as well as a lipgloss or two. The packaging is also the "balm" (get it?). It's sleek and has a unique design.

Another thing  I like in holiday palettes are themes. I'm seriously lusting after the Too Faced Christmas In Paris Palette. My room is done in Paris themed decor and it would look perfect on my vanity. But the high quality would be a huge plus! Too Faced is always reliable when it comes to their holiday kits.

Sample sizes are a nice touch, too. I love getting eyeliners, glosses and primers thrown into kits. It's nice to have samples to test for future purchases. Although, that might be a bad thing for my wallet!

One thing I would like to see more of are drugstore holiday kits. Most of the kits include low quality items and I feel like the drugstore could do better. Especially, e.l.f. They're capable of making great products but for some reason their  holiday kits are like toddler makeup kits. The quality just isn't there. The drugstore should really inspire their kits after high end companies. Their sells would sky rocket then!

So, what do you look for in a holiday kit?
Which brand impresses and disappoints you every year?

Chit chat Wednesday | Foundation Samples

What are your thoughts on foundation samples?

My Answer: I think companies should put two foundation shades in a sample. One should be the fairest of the foundation line and the other should be the darkest. That way fair and deep skin tones can finally have a usable sample and people with skin tones in between can mix the shades together to find their perfect match.

Why are companies not doing this?! They're just wasting their money on samples that can't be used. No one is going to buy the full sized product if they can't even test the sample size!

What is your opinion on the subject?
How should brands package foundation samples?

Chit Chat Wednesday| Have You Ever Used Kitchen Supplies For Beauty Related Reasons

Have you ever used kitchen supplies for a beauty related reason?

My answer: Yes, I have used honey and cinnamon as an acne treatment mask. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything remarkable for my acne. I also tried apple cider vinegar as toner but it was too harsh on my skin. However, it does work on normal skin that is not sensitive or dry. I also tried ice as a cooling agent for my inflammatory acne. It didn't do anything for that but it was cooling on my eyes!

What have you used in your kitchen? Anything we should all be aware of? Share your secrets in the comments below!
