Weekly tip, beauty news and manicure of the week

Usually, I'll post my weekly tip on Friday but sometimes there's this thing called life that gets in my way. I had thought about not posting a tip for last week since I was busy but the beauty news included would be outdated and I wanted to share the news with everyone. Plus, I thoroughly enjoy the weekly post. It's fun to write and I get to talk about fun stuff. So why skip it? Keep reading to find out this weeks tip and beauty news.

Big, bold, thick, long, and dark lashes are always in but sometimes mascara just doesn't cut it...until now. Well this tip can't do everything but it really does help. We use primers for everything. Our face, eyes, lips and even our lashes but I personally don't own a lash primer. However, I do have a whole stash of eye primers. Becuase of the a beauty blogger within me, I decided to mess around with using eye primers on my lashes and the outcome is groundbreaking (dramatic, I know). I noticed a difference in the length, thickness and wear time of my mascara. Not only that but it also helped seperate my lashes during applicication. If you already have eye primer break it out and test it for yourself. Let me know what you think!

It has been such a long time since I decided to wear nail polish. I have been on a Jamberry kick lately and gave up the nail polish lifestyle. But... Rimmels 60 seconds nail polish is my ride or die formula from the drugstore and the colors are ahhhmazing. Their opaque, non-streaky, and unique. Surprisingly, the thing that attracts me the most is the drying time. I have a toddler, cat and a dog, when I paint my nails they have to dry fast or they'll be ruined within a few minutes.
If you're looking for a chip resistant formula, then chances are you won't like this formula much. It starts to chip on my after a couple days but I don't mind redoing my manicure since it dries so fast. Plus, I have the opportunity to changed up my design. The colors in the photo above are "Breakfast In Bed" and "Caramel Cupcake".

Sonia Kashuk Fall 2014 sneak peek

Hello, be sure to prepare yourself for a long desirous wait. Sonia Kashuk kindly released a sneak peek of her 2014 fall collection and it looks gorgeous! There will be plenty of brushes to experiment with, makeup bags to drool over, nail lacquers to beatify our nails, facial oil to give us a radiant glow that keeps summer skin alive and a lip palette that's going to capture everyone's attention.  I'm sure Sonia has even more to surprise us with. She always has high quality eyeshadow palettes being released. Maybe even new lip shades(In a lipstick tube)! I guess we will have to wait and see for ourselves what the rest of the fall collection holds.

Unlike most drugstore brands, Sonia Kashuk is always releasing unique brushes. This brush is designed for easy travel but still features great qualities that you look for in a brush.  It's bristle are super soft and won't shed like other travel brushes. The compact itself is very strong. It has small magnets to prevent accidental openings. Plus, you get a mirror along with it!

Of course we will have new bags to purchase. Sonia Kashuk is the queen when it comes to releasing cosmetic bags. They're always high quality and so stinking cute! I look forward to checking out her new designs.

So many brushes are set to be released. This collection looks so pretty and knowing myself I'm sure I will purchase it.
This set includes 20 brushes but keep reading there are many more to come!
I can't contain my excitement right now. These brushes look so cute! Keep a look out for a future review of these brushes on taylorpiebeauty.com!
Expect to dish out some money though. Usually Sonia sells her brush sets for $25 and they only have around 5 brushes. It wouldn't surprise me if this 15 piece professional brush set costs $50+. Although, they can be well worth it as long as if they are high quality like her pernament collection.
This set looks perfect for anyone who needs to expand their collection. Everything you could ever need for your makeup is in this set. Let's just hope the bristle don't shed and that they're soft!

Here is a look at the new nail polishes set to be released this fall. I've never tried her nail polishes before but I just might have to now that I've seen the pink color! It looks so cute I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Ah, the new Radiant Boost Restorative Facial Oil. This is the thing I look forward to the most. The packaging is to die for and I'm sure the oil is like holy water. I have a feeling this oil will be a staple in beauty regimen.
Sonia also said "there's a stabilized retinol, with great anti-aging benefits." How neat is that? I didn't really want to rush through the summer months but I just can't get my mind off of this fall release. My skin is literally craving it!

Here is a preview of the Powerful Pout Lip Palette. I'm not sure if it will come in different colors but the palette shown above looks very intriguing. Typically, I'm not too keen on lip palettes but my eyes are glued on these lipsticks. Not only do I think the shades will look amazing on the lips but the shiny gold palettes will look glamorous on any vanity. Who wouldn't want a stunning lip palettes like this from the drugstore? You get five seductive shades, plus a lip brush! I don't know if I will be able to contain my excitement if/when I see more palettes with different shades.

Target is very lucky to have such a high quality brand sold in their stores. Sephora better watch out because Sonia Kashuk is taking over with her magnificent releases.  Thank you for releasing pictures of your new releases, Sonia Kashuk!

Does Pam really dry wet nail polish? Find out!

Hello, today I am putting a very popular trick to the test. So many people have claimed Pam cooking spray will instantly dry wet nail polish. When I heard of his trick I prayed so hard for it to work. I don't know about you but I feel like my nails are ugly without a polished look. Though, most of the time I can't just sit around and wait for my nail polish to dry.  I have things to do and a toddler to take care of. Anyways, today I decided to take it upon myself and test it out.

The directions say: Spray Pam on wet nails, wipe it off, they're completely dry!

For those who are curious, I used a nail polish that doesn't have any fast drying claims. It's just your regular everyday formula.

For my first try I painted one of my nails with one coat and the other with two coats. Then, I sprayed the Pam cooking spray all over my nails and waited 10 seconds to gently wipe it off.

As you can see in the photo above, the cooking spray didn't dry my nails at one bit. Both of my nails smeared everywhere when I went to wipe it off. I didn't use much pressure at all. So, unfortunately, this method does not work.

This time I decided to let the Pam cooking spray dry on its own. I also did the same thing with my nails(one finger has two coats, the other one).

After the Pam finally dried I put my finder over the polish to see if they dried as well. My ring finger has two coats of nail polish and I noticed it was still wet and smudged when I touched it. So nope it didn't work.

My pinky finger only had one coat and didn't smudge when I touched it! This is the only way I could get the Pam to actually dry my nails. At least there's some truth to this theory!

Overall, I think this method isn't worth the trying. It's takes forever to dry and your hands get all greasy. Isn't the point of this trick to have fast drying nails without the hassle of waiting? I guess it works if you apply one coat of nail polish and wait for the Pam to dry on its own but honestly I would rather just pay for a fast drying nail polish. Try it out yourself and tell me what you think.

Has this trick worked for you? Let me know in the comment section below!
