March All Star winner

About this post
At the end of each month I will post my makeup All Star Winner. I plan on doing this instead of monthly favorites because I don't want to be repetitive. An All Star Winner is my favorite beauty product of the whole month. It can range from hair, skincare and cosmetics. Keep on reading and try to guess what it is. This month most people will probably already know. If you do guess before the end comment and let me know. I would love to hear from my readers.

Product description
This month it is an eyeshadow palette. It's consists of 16 eyeshadows, 8 matte and 8 shimmery. It costs $42 and you can buy it at most department stores. This palette is famous for the buttery shades and fantastic blending qualities. It's so versatile and you can create dozens of looks with this palette. The packaging is a slim black palette with a magnetic closure. Here are the swatches below.
Starting at the top left: White,  Cream, Taupe, Lt. Pink, Mauve, Sable, Expresso, Black
Nude, Champagne, Gold, Lt. Bronze, Pewter, Garnet, Deep Purple, Slate

Still can't guess what palette it is? Here is a hint. The first letter of the company that makes this palette.

Here is a peak inside the palette.
In the pictures you will see eyeshadows. What you don't see is the mirror. I couldn't photograph it because the name is beside the mirror. Anyways, take a look and see if you can guess. The next step will reveal the All Star Winner.

 The Lorac Pro Palette

This heavenly palette is one of the best palettes out there. You can create day and night looks with it. The looks  can be natural or dramatic. If you haven't bought a palette yet, you should pick this up. The shadows are easy to blend and you get a lot of eyeshadows with this palette. It's great for beginners. Not only do I use this palette constantly for a complete look, I atribute it in other looks when I'm using single eyeshadows. This palette literally has everything I need ( for my eyes). I have my crease, highlight and my outer v shade. Personally, I think this palette is worth way more than $42. Everything is great about the Lorac Pro. It's slim (making it travel friendly), great quality eyeshadows, large mirror, magnetic closer and the balance between shimmery and matte shades is perfect. Go buy this palette!

My favorite shade from this palette is Gold. It's so pigmented and smooth. I can wear it almost anywhere on my eye. I'm never disappointed with this color. For the swatch in the picture, I barley even had to touch the shadow or my arm. It's that good!

If you want to buy this palette click here. You also get a mini Behind the Scenes eyeshadow primer with this palette.

Thank you for ready, TaylorPie.

E.l.f Ex-tra Lip Gloss Review, swatches and photos

Hello, for this post I will be talking about E.l.f's Ex-tra Lip Gloss. You can find these on eyeslipsface.com for $2 each. E.l.f has a total of 6 shades and I have two of them to share with you. I have the colors Marc and Brett. All of the shades are named after men. E.l.f picked out stories from their buyers about their ex-boyfriends and named their lip glosses after them. How cute is that? The names they chose are Brian, Scott, Joe, Marc, Michael and Brett. Click here to look at the Ex-tra Lip Gloss.
What does the package say?
  • An ultra-smooth, rich colored gloss with Extra ingredients to moisturize and condition.
  • Create gorgeous lips that could have your Ex's wanting you back!
  • Enriched with Vitamins A & E, Cocoa Butter, Sunflower, Avocado and Grape to nourish and protect the lips
  • The unique applicator shape applies precision color for a pouty perfect look.
Directions: Apply to lips as often as desired. Wear alone or over any other lip color.

Safe, Gentle Formula

Instantly beautiful, healthy-looking lips designed , formulated and tested by our professional team of makeup artists.

The applicator is simple and easy to use. The doe foot applicator is flat on both sides. This makes it easier to apply the lip gloss on both, top and bottom, of your lips at the same time.
Here are the swatches of Marc(top) and Brett(bottom). These colors are very opaque and creamy. They don't have a nasty scent or a tacky feeling. The only con is they last for about a hour. Although, Brett seems to last longer because it is a darker shade.  The packaging is OK, the wand can be a little flimsy. However, for two dollars it's a great product.
Note: If you like the name of the product on your makeup then you might not like this. The name rubs off when you touch the tube.
Marc is a pinky shade with subtle shimmer. This shade has a faint scent.  Out of both of the colors I have, I like this one more. It's not a long wearing color but it's a beautiful shade. Marc will last on my lips for about a hour and I'm left with pretty much nothing. It's nice to have but I don't think I will repurchase it.

Brett is a shimmery red shade. Brett does last longer than Marc but it's probably just because it's a darker shade. With this shade you don't have to build up the color. It's very opaque by itself. The scent is a distinct sweet smell.
If you don't like a strong red color then you can apply a dab on the center of your lips and rub it in. This way you have a slight red hued look.

Overall, I think these are your average lip glosses. They are not a long wearing formula but e.l.f doesn't claim them to be long wearing. They are nicely opaque and go on beautifully. Two dollars is a good deal but I still prefer my Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers. I also think this formula can be drying. I suggest wearing Chapstick underneath them. I might purchase more colors during the next 50% off sale. Until then, I think I will just stick with Marc and Brett. Even though they're not my favorite lip glosses, I don't regret buying them. I will continue to use these two shades.
