Weekly tip, Beauty news and favorite product

Hey, guys! I know it has been a while since my last weekly tip and for that, I'm sorry. I have posted other blogs this week , though. So be sure to check those out.

As for my weekly post, I decided to change it and I personally think its for the better. Instead of showing the nail polish I wore that week, I replaced it with my favorite beauty product. I mean, I dont do my nails that often, so why include that in my weekly post, right? Makeup and skincare is more fun anway!

Now lets get on with that tip, shall we?

Weekly Tip

If you have dipped your toes into the world of makeup, then you have probably heard of using a Qtip to clean up your eye makeup. What a waste of Qtips! Instead, use a concealer brush left over from an empty concealer tube. Just clean it and start using it. I find it works best with makeup remover, just like a Qtip. It cleans up your makeup just as good but produces no waste and saves a little money. If you end up not liking it, oh well, there was no money wasted! By the way, remember to clean the applicator regularly like other brushes. Product build- up will prevent it from doing its job. A dirty towel can't clean dirty dishes.

Beauty News

Colourpop is launching 24 creme gel liners with matching liners in a couple of weeks. Knowing Colourpop, the liners are going to be bomb as hell at a cheap price.

Product Favorite

My favorite product this past week is Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. It's really intense but natural at the same time. The texture is so incredibly smooth and blendable. The shade is a champagne peach that blends into the skin like camoflauge. The price is up there for a highlighter but the purchase is justible since the product is so good. I would love to say I'll repurchase it when I run out but its limited edition. So hurry up and pick yours up while you can!

Chit Chat Wednesday

What do you look for in a holiday palette?

I personally look for multiple products in a sleek palette. My favorite kind of holiday palette includes eye shadows, blushes, bronzers and highlights.. One palette that I'm eager to get my hands on is The Balms "The Balm Of Your Hand" palette. It includes their colt products like Mary-loumanizer, Bahama Mamma and their best eyeshades, as well as a lipgloss or two. The packaging is also the "balm" (get it?). It's sleek and has a unique design.

Another thing  I like in holiday palettes are themes. I'm seriously lusting after the Too Faced Christmas In Paris Palette. My room is done in Paris themed decor and it would look perfect on my vanity. But the high quality would be a huge plus! Too Faced is always reliable when it comes to their holiday kits.

Sample sizes are a nice touch, too. I love getting eyeliners, glosses and primers thrown into kits. It's nice to have samples to test for future purchases. Although, that might be a bad thing for my wallet!

One thing I would like to see more of are drugstore holiday kits. Most of the kits include low quality items and I feel like the drugstore could do better. Especially, e.l.f. They're capable of making great products but for some reason their  holiday kits are like toddler makeup kits. The quality just isn't there. The drugstore should really inspire their kits after high end companies. Their sells would sky rocket then!

So, what do you look for in a holiday kit?

Beauty Products I Don't Purchase From High End Brands

Hello, everyone! I don't know about you but I love saving money. But when it comes to beauty supplies, what should we save on? Everyone has their own opinion about what they should splurge on but I wanted to share what I find is unnecessary to spend the big bucks on.

Makeup

Mascara- Mascara is one of those items most brands can master. It might take ten different formulas from their line but every brand has a decent mascara. When choosing between drugstore and high end, drugstore is the way to go. Most drugstore mascara works just as good as the designer brands, if not better. Besides, mascara dries out in a couple months anyways. Why spend $20 on something that you'll have to repurchase again sooner rather than later? Especially since it's nothing special.

Eye Liner- The drugstore has some bomb eyeliner formulas! Nowadays, there's no need to go to the department store to spend high amounts of money on an eyeliner. Maybelline even offers the best gel liner on the market for less than $10! It would be just plain silly to spend extra money on the same product.

Eyebrow products- Every high end brow powder, pomade, or pencil has a dupe. Nyx has a dupe for ABH brow pencil and brow pomade for a fraction of the price. However, Any brow product you buy at the drugstore will work just as fine as one that's cost $20+. We go through brow products so fast, anyways. Might as well buy them at a cheaper price.

False Lashes- This is more of a personal thing. Some people like to spend $45 on lashes so they can wear them more than once. However, if you're like me, I don't wear falsies that much and I would rather save $40 on a pair of lashes I'll more than likely wear one time anyways.

Skincare

Face Wash- Skincare is almost always a criteria you should spend more on, just not when it comes to the cleanser. Cleansers only stay one your face for a couple minutes and most formulas clean your skin just the same. It's the treatments, masks, and facial lotions you want to break the bank for.

Body wash- Again, cleansers are only on your body for a minute or so and body wash is widely available at the drugstore. Plus, they're already so dang good at a cheap price!

Lotion- The best lotion I have ever tried is from the drugstore for only $5! There's no justification for spending lots of money on a lotion that can be duped.

Makeup Remover- Makeup remover isn't anything special. The cheap stuff always gets the job done wonderfully!

Tools

Brushes- The drugstore offers brushes that are just as good as high end. The highest I'll pay for a brush is Sigmas prices. I consider Sigma high end but with reasonable prices. Other than that, I'll stick with e.l.f, Sonia Kashuk, Eco Tools, Real Techniques and Morphe!

Hair stylers-  I can't speak from experience because I have never used a designer straightener,etc... But I can say any affordable hair styler I have used works just fine. My hair stays straight with my revlon hair straightener and my curls hold all day with my $20 wand.

Hair products- I'm not really into hair care but my hair does stay healthy and soft with products I buy at Target. I use drugstore shampoo, heat protectant, hair sprays and anything else my hair requires. Yet, my hair looks just as healthy as someone who uses $20 shampoo!

Disclaimer: I have purchased some products listed above from high end brands but I have come to the conclusion the extra money isn't worth it and I do reviews on new releases.
If you purchase these items at high prices, I'm not judging or critizing you. Everyone has the right to spend however much they wish on their products.
