Weekly tip, Beauty news & Makeup favorite

Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend? This weekend my sisters are coming over for a visit. My boyfriend is going hunting for the weekend and I thought it would be fun to have a "grown up" girls weekend. We're going to do some masks, possibly sip on wine and watch Christmas movies.

I know my weekend plans are not the reason why you are here. So shall we move on with our weekly tip? Ok.. I just did a weird head turn while I did that (haha). Sometimes I think I should create a Youtube channel just so ya'll can see my awkward looks! Sometimes it can be hard to show my personality through text.

I started using liner brushes a while back when I was too lazy to wash my lip brush. After a while I actually found myself preferring the angled brush over my lip brush. I find that the precision is more accurate. Maybe its just because I create complex wings with that brush all the time. And no, I don't use the same brush for both my eyes and lips... I have more than one, ha. You should really try it sometime!

Pantone Universe announced their color of the year yesterday! You know what that means, a new Pantone collection by Sephora! The shades picked were Serenity (15-3919) and Pantone Rose Quartz (13-1520). The picture up above are the limited-edition products Sephora will release starting this month (December).

This is my favorite part of this post! My favorite product this week is the Too Faced Semi- Sweet Chocolate bar. I recently ordered it so I can compare it to the new Chocolate Bon Bons palette that is releasing on the 8th. Honestly, I'm surprised by how much I love this palette. I thought the original was good but the Semi-Sweet is even better. I find that the shadows are a lot smoother and more unique. I'm in total awe. If you want to see swatches come back later when I post a comparison of the three palettes. I'll also give you the details on which one is the best.

What was your favorite makeup product this week? Was it perhaps the same as mine? Let me know in the comments below. And don't forget to tell me if you're going to try this weeks tip. Fill me in on how it works out!

Weekly Tip, Beauty News & Weekly Favorite | How To Turn Any Brush Into A Contour Brush

For some reason I'm not in a blogging mood today. I think it's just because I was gone (got back early😅) and I want to catch up on my shows on Hulu. But... I'm going to write up this post anyway and share a tip that I have been so excited to share with you all. I'm not much into contouring but when I do, I use this tip and it works every time!

Weekly Tip

Don't have a brush that is good for contouring? Worry no more! Now you can use an angled blush brush, powder brush, or whatever you have sitting in your vanity. All you need is a brush guard (I got mine with an e.l.f cosmetics brush). Just slide it up your brush and hold it in place while you apply a contour shade under your cheekbones. Once your contour is placed, take the guard off (optional) and buff it upwards into your cheekbones for a flawless finish. This tip is also great if your contour brush is currently in line for a cleanup!

Beauty News

There's no way you're not a fan of Jaclyn Hill and if you are, then your probably already know about this release. I just wanted to let everyone know the Champagne Glow palette by Becca is going up on Sephora's website this coming week! The release online is 10/27 and available in stores on 10/30 (select stores). The price is $34 and includes three highlighters: Pearl, Champagne Pop(Jaclyns shade) and Blushed Copper.

Product Favorite

This weeks favorite is a concealer palette made by Bh Cosmetics. I can't go a day without using this product! I always mix the peachy and green shade together to cancel out the hyper pigmentation on my cheeks. The lighter concealers on the top row are really good for concealing dark circles. I personally don't have extremely dark under eyes but I do experience darkness and I use them to take care of it. I'm too pale to use them for  highlighting. I just can't get enough of a contrast but if you're darker than me it would be perfect to use for highlighting when contouring! The formula is creamy but dries down to a powdery finish. If it's set with powder it will last all day under my eyes without creasing. I don't use it for concealing pimples though. All of the concealers are too light, even for my NC20 complexion! Click here to purchase($5, 3 different colors available).

Weekly Tip, Beauty News & Weekly Favorite

Hey, guys! Next week I'll have some new reviews up on the blog. I hauled a few items last weekend and I have been putting them to the test. The first review will be of the Colourpop liquid lipsticks, which includes the limited edition shade Chillychili. If you want to see swatches ahead of time follow TaylorPieB on Instagram!

Now let's get started with our weekly post!

Instead of throwing away that dried out gel eyeliner of yours, keep it! Give it a good clean with some soap and use it for foundation when you travel. The jar will keep your foundation safe and moist, while being travel friendly. Now you can finally save that extra space for your other favorite makeup items.

Earlier this year Milani released their Amore Matte Lip Crémes for a limited time. Everyone ended up loving them and begged Milani to make them permanent. Milani just announced this week they are going to make the line permanent next year and release new shades along with the release. Boy am I glad! I never did find any of the lip crémes. My display was always sold out and I pretty much accepted I was never going to have any. Thanks to Milani, now we'll all get the chance in 2016!

All this month everyone has been showing off the Mega Pro 2 and it inspired me to dig my old one out. I'm so happy and fortunate to have the Mega Pro 1. I love the berry theme Lorac went with and the shadows are spot on to the original Pro Palettes. You can't purchase it anymore but the Mega Pro 2 is available on Ulta's website right now(limited edition-$59). It doesn't have the same shades but the quality is the same!

Weekly tip, Beauty news and favorite product

Hey, guys! I know it has been a while since my last weekly tip and for that, I'm sorry. I have posted other blogs this week , though. So be sure to check those out.

As for my weekly post, I decided to change it and I personally think its for the better. Instead of showing the nail polish I wore that week, I replaced it with my favorite beauty product. I mean, I dont do my nails that often, so why include that in my weekly post, right? Makeup and skincare is more fun anway!

Now lets get on with that tip, shall we?

Weekly Tip

If you have dipped your toes into the world of makeup, then you have probably heard of using a Qtip to clean up your eye makeup. What a waste of Qtips! Instead, use a concealer brush left over from an empty concealer tube. Just clean it and start using it. I find it works best with makeup remover, just like a Qtip. It cleans up your makeup just as good but produces no waste and saves a little money. If you end up not liking it, oh well, there was no money wasted! By the way, remember to clean the applicator regularly like other brushes. Product build- up will prevent it from doing its job. A dirty towel can't clean dirty dishes.

Beauty News

Colourpop is launching 24 creme gel liners with matching liners in a couple of weeks. Knowing Colourpop, the liners are going to be bomb as hell at a cheap price.

Product Favorite

My favorite product this past week is Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. It's really intense but natural at the same time. The texture is so incredibly smooth and blendable. The shade is a champagne peach that blends into the skin like camoflauge. The price is up there for a highlighter but the purchase is justible since the product is so good. I would love to say I'll repurchase it when I run out but its limited edition. So hurry up and pick yours up while you can!

Weekly Tip, Beauty News & Blog News

Hey, I hope you're having a great weekend! This weekend I am cutting my toddlers hair, to say the least, I'm extremely nervous. He doesn't like to have others cut his hair so I do it myself but I haven't had any cosmetology training. I hope it works out. On Sunday I'm going to a family cookout so I doubt there will be a new post tomorrow. I'll be back on Monday, though! Have a good rest of the weekend and enjoy this weeks tip!

Weekly Tip
Who doesn't live for a white smile? We all try to get the whitest teeth we possibly can but there comes a point in time when their just as white as they can be. Or maybe some of us don't whiten our teeth. But we all want them to look as white as possible, even if their not. So what to do? Have you ever heard of blue based lipstick making teeth look whiter? It's true! But not all lipsticks are blue based. No worries, though. That can be fixed with a sheer blue lipgloss. Just put on your favorite red lipstick (red works best) and add a thin layer of the blue gloss over it. Expect poeple to ask your "whitening" secret!

Weekly Tip, Beauty & Blog News, and Nail Design of the Week

Hello! I just want to update everyone on my monthly All Star (favorites) post. I'm currently switching things up and I'm going to do that post differently. I wasn't really satisfied with that series and I decided that I should go ahead and change it. I've been skipping it every month for a while now but I will have a March All Star winner post up at the end of the month! But for now, enjoy my weekly posts! Thanks.

Weekly Tip

Small squinty eyes can be a bummer. But with the power of makeup we can take care of that on going problem. All you have to do is add a little extra of your favorite mascara to the lashes on the outer part of your eye. Doing so will add the illusion of wider eyes. If that's still not enough adding winged liner will certainly get the job done. When you look in the mirror your eyes will look wider and more awake than ever before.

Blog News

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks have always been a favorite of mine but sometimes they just don't fit within my budget. Especially when the shade is dupeable and I can save money in the first place. The other day I was testing out a new Matte lipstick from Rimmel and I couldn't help but think I already had this shade. It turns out that I do but it cost me $15 less than the high end version. So I'm proud to say I found a dupe for Too Faced Melted lipstick in "Berry". The dupe is called "Meteoric Matte" from Rimmel Londons Show Off Lip Velvet line. Take a look at the picture above and see the similarities for yourself.

Beauty News

Speaking of Too Faced, they just released their new spring line that includes 8 new gorgeous melted metal lipstick shades.  They are $21 on Toofaced.com. Are you going to purchase any? I might but I'm not sure yet.

Nail Design of the Week

How cute is this nail wrap design from Jamberry?! If you're interested, the name is Edgy. It's part of their new spring line that just released last month.

Weekly Tip, Beauty News and Nail Color of the Week

Hello!
Sorry I didn't have a weekly tip last week. I was busy right before Valentine's Day and I didn't have time to write up a post but I'm back this week! As you all know brows are a huge thing right now. The trend is full defined brows that frame your face. But can't it be hard to keep those big gorgeous eyebrows from being over plucked? I thought so. Keep reading to learn a nifty trick that I learned of recently for that exact problem.

It only makes sense. Artist sketch out their art instead winging it, shouldn't we do the same with our brows? Ideally any brow product will work. Just fill them in like you usually do, when it's time to pluck those hairs find the odd balls. There's no more Mr. Tweezer Happy Hands. He's gone and your brows can finally grow out to the shape you want them to be. When I use this trick I prefer a pomade. It's easier to see what's past the eyebrow line when a nice crisp line is used as a guide but I'm sure powders will be fine too. Let me know how it works out for you!

I love Sonia Kashuk brushes but I can't say much for her makeup. I'm not sure why but I haven't really tried anything from her makeup line. I always ooh and awe at the beautiful products she releases but I never pull the trigger when it comes to a stand off in the makeup isle. But... If there's a time to do it, then it's now. For the whole month of February Sonia Kashuk products are 20% off on Targets website. So if there's any brushes or makeup products you have been eyeing put them in your cart and push the check out button.

I have been obsessed with Jamberry nail wraps. When I saw the "Love Spell" nail wraps on their website I instantly knew I had to have them for Valentine's Day. If their appealing to you hurry and pick them up! I believe their exclusive to the time around February. I could be wrong though.

Weekly Tip, Beauty News and Nail Color of the Week

Hello! It's that time of the week again. This weeks tip is great if you have dry skin. So be sure to check out the tip below.

I actually have two topics for beauty news this week and unlike last week I actually have a new nail design this week. Hopefully I will have the Jamberry review up soon. I'm really glad that I'm done testing them out and I hate to spoil the surprise but I have to say I'm pleasantly pleased with Jamberry Nails.

Like always, if you have any questions just leave a comment below! Thanks for reading!

You know I have always suspected this but I didn't know if I was just crazy. But it did seem like everytime I used a brush my skin would look terrible. Maybe some of you are in my position and you know what I'm talking about. I have dry acne and when I where foundation it can tend to look like I have red dry circles all over my face. This is not a cute look and no one can pull it off. What makes it worse? Brushes. I know a lot of people use brushes and they're great. But if you have dry skin then it's a huge no no. Some brushes are ok. For instance, a stippling brush is appropriate for drier skin but honestly I recommend a Beauty Blender.
Yes, Beauty Blenders can be pricey but they are a necessary investment if you struggle on a daily basis with dry skin. They provide extra moisture during application and they don't make dry spots apparent. If you don't want to fork out the money for a $20 sponge, Real Techniques makes a dupe for only $6.

There's a new beauty trend among celebrities! Probably everyone else, too! As you can see in the picture above Adelle has her fingernails manicured but what makes them special is the red polish underneath her nail. How cute is that? I always hated the look long nails have when the under part of the nail is showing. I really think this provides an extra polished look and I'm sure it will be a huge trend soon. What do you think?

There's a new product by Pixi Beauty coming out next month! How exciting. This weeks post must be all about dry skin becuase this Glow Mist will be a miracle for dry skin. I don't have all of the details but just by looking at it I know I want it. In the picture it says it is a glow mist with Propolis and Argan Oil. It is nourishing, hydrating, and protective. I'm sure it will be great for setting makeup if you're after a dewy finish. Maybe it will be similar to Mac's Fix+? I hope it is! We need a good drugstore spray that freshens makeup but still provides skin benefits. I'm just hoping the price isn't more expensive than Mac's Fix+. Pixi isn't exactly known for their affordable prices. I'm expecting it to be around $15-30.

If you're interested in it, then follow Pixi by Petra on Instagram. I'm sure they'll post updates. Also keep a look out for it at your local Target. If you do spot it, PLEASE let me know!

For this weeks nail color I used E.l.f Cosmetics nail polish in Smoky Brown and Jamberrys nail wrap in Diamond Dust Sparkle as my accent nail. The nail polish is really cute but I would recommended skipping it. It had extreme chipping and I ended up removing it. I think I'm just going to stick with Jamberry nail wraps for now on! I just can't handle chipped nails.

Are you going to follow Adelle's trend?
Are you excited for Pixi Beauty's new launch?
Have you tried the Beauty Blender?

Weekly tip, Blog news and Beauty news

This one of those times when you want to read my weekly tip, news and nail color of the week posts. I have exciting blog news to share with you. Unfortunately, I don't have a nail color of the week. I'm still testing out Jamberry nails and I have the same design on as last week. So instead I decided to include more beauty news in this post(hence, the title).

So if you want to find out this weeks news and beauty tip, then keep reading!

Weekly Tip

Is your mascara dried up? Maybe you don't have time to run to the store today or tomorrow? Put it in a cup of very hot water. It will loosen up the mascara and provide a couple more uses. I'm not saying you can do this to the mascara in your moms makeup bag from ten years ago. No, this works on mascara you have been using the pasts few months or one that you accidentally left open over night. I have tried it and it works wonders. I would recommend sitting it in a cup when you first wake up and by the time you're ready to apply your mascara the formula will be warm and creamy.

Blog News

This is the most exciting thing about this post. I'm sure some of you are wondering what a mystery giveaway is...let me explain.

I know some of you are loyal readers and I want to show some love to my loyal followers. So I decided at some point this year in one of my posts, it could be a review, tutorial, ect, I will write a sentence that states..

Congratulations, you are the winner of my mystery giveaway. Please, leave a comment below and claim your prize

You must be the first one to leave a comment. I might include it in a post tomorrow, next month or even December 31st. Just keep your eyes open and you could win this giveaway. The mystery item will probably be a palette of some sort. Whatever is hyped up at the moment. Maybe I'll even let the winner decide which palette he or she wants. I guess we'll see!

Good luck to everyone!

Beauty News

I have more beauty news about E.l.f cosmetics. They just launched a new brush that is a multipurpose tool. It can be used for blending, highlighting, contouring and stippling. It sells for $10 and is available for purchase right now on Eyeslipsface.com. To me, it looks very similar to Becca Cosmetics multipurpose brush, which costs over $50. It also has a Nars vibe going on. I'm surprised about the price but I'm also intruiged. E.l.f has a great studio brush line and I have always had good luck with them. But I have to say $10 is a large jump on the price scale.

Blog News

My last blog news is about a new series from taylorpiebeauty.com. This series is about posts where I talk about my findings while going undercover. I have a few accounts on social media websites where no one knows I'm a beauty blogger. I ask questions and get feed back about various topics. I have always found people treat bloggers differently than people who are need. Some questions I will already know the answers but I'm curious to find out the honest answers I get from strangers. I really hope this series is successful. I think it will be very fun to do and write about! If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below.

Weekly tip, Beauty News and Nail Color of the Week

Wow, it has been such a long time since I posted for this series. I don't always have any beauty news or even have my nails painted when this post is due. Frankly, I even forgot about this series until I actually had two new "beauty news" stories I wanted to tell you all about. This weeks isn't the exciting one but next weeks will be interesting. Trust me you'll want to know about it too.

Weekly Tip
Do you ever feel like your eyeshadow doesn't look at neat as the pictures you see on Instagram? Does it look choppy or perhaps, all of the colors blend into one shade? It could be the amount of pressure you use.  Instead of holding the brush by the bottom the the ferrule hold it from the end. This way you're not applying so much pressure while blending. Your eye shadow won't look as chopping and the shades will blend like they're suppose to. If it's still not working out, try to blend the edges of each shade isnstead of the whole shaded area. It's important to blend in the correct spots(depending on the look).

Beauty News
There's a new product out from Tarte Cosmetics! Their new Tarteist Clay Paint Liner comes with the price tag of $24. It is said to have a thinner consistency similar to that of a liquid liner but still preform like a gel. It can currently be found exclusively on Sephora's website. No worries if you don't have a brush. This liner comes with a high quality brush with every single purchase.

What it is:
An innovative, waterproof cream eyeliner with a unique blending tip that is inspired by an artist’s palette.

What it does:
Think outside the lines when you define eyes like a pro with tarte’s clay paint liner. Inspired by the ease of an artist’s palette, this one-of-a-kind, squeezable cream liner offers a seamless, no-budge application—simply squeeze, line, and define. The unique formula features fewer waxes, cushioned pigments, and a special development process that allows for the creamiest texture and smoothest application. The tube was created with an innovative artistic delivery system, a tapered tip, and a flat blending stage so you can simply pick up the ideal amount of product and blend for foolproof perfection. The sketcher-angled bamboo liner brush easily glides the plush, triple-black, formula along the contours of the eyelid. Featuring the same waterproof, 12-hour wear as tarte’s signature clay pot liners, this next-generation liner has cushion slide technology that lets you custom create your own signature lines without ever pulling or transferring.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
This product is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested.

Nail Color of the Week
Ok, it's not really a nail color but instead a nail product.... This week I'm wearing Jamberrys exclusive Mystery Hostess design. It can't be purchased online but there are many, MANY shades available to purchase. Presently, I'm testing them out to see if their worthy of your money. And I have to say so far so good. They claim to last for two+ weeks and I'm only four days in. I will be sure to write up a review and tell you my sincere thoughts. But I can pretty much promise you that I will love them!
