The Only Brushes You Need For Traveling

You don't need every brush in your collection when traveling. It's obviously true when a makeup hoarder like myself confesses the cold hard truth. I know it's nice to have a brush for every step but it's not necessary
to complete a look with every brush in your collection, take it from a makeup hoarder. If I'm saying this, it must be true.

More so than ever, I'm a huge makeup hoarder and I can't help but pack every single thing I love when I'm leaving. That being said, I'm always left with little to no room for my makeup brushes. After going through the same process over and over again, I finally got the hang of packing the important brushes I need. Honestly, I'm not sure why I packaged a gazillion brushes everytime I went somewhere. There's only a few I require when doing my makeup at home. Why would It be any different when doing my makeup else where? Maybe it's the hoarder within me?

Are you the same way?

The most important brushes, in my opinion, are eye brushes. I could probably use one brush for my whole face but my eyes are a different story. No matter where I'm at I need a fluffy brush for blending, a crease brush for my crease (duh), flat shadow brush for my lid/ brow bone and a liner brush for, well, lining my eyes. Every other brush can wait at home. Plus, there will be less brushes to clean once you get home!

However..

If I had to zero it down to one brush for my eyes, it would definitely be Sigmas E35 brush. It's the best brush out there for crease work and I can't imagine going without it for a second! Honest to God, I can throw some brown eyeshadow in my crease with that brush and call it a day. The E35 has a golden crown over its head for being the queen of brushes.

Now let's chat about the face.

It seems like famous beauty gurus use 20 different brushes on their face every time they do their makeup but I'm more of a simple 'gal. All I need is a small setting brush, a powder brush and an angled brush. Yep, that's right, three brushes! Forget the contour brush and the countless other brushes that take up the extra space in your bag. They're not worth the space and you don't need them.

Let's be practical here, I could probably get the same look done without a small setting brush, but it's mighty useful when it comes to setting under eye concealer. I'll also usually double the practicality of it and use it as a highlighting brush. Just be sure to wipe it clean between uses if you do the same thing!

My main use for the angled brush is pretty obvious... Blush and bronzer. But the extra use for it is using the tip of the angle for contouring cheekbones and the nose.

I'm not going to go into details about the powder brush. Everyone knows it's used for setting foundation and applying powdered foundation. But I can say it's also great to have for extra blending around the face. Your bronzer and blush will never look better!

Not only is it great to decrease the amount of brushes you take for traveling but the same guidelines can be used at home. Don't believe that you need 20 brushes to have flawless makeup. Do yourself a favor and save some major bucks by just buying the basics. I gave in and bought unnecessary tools. And guess what...I don't even use them!
