Empties-makeup, hair, skincare and nails

Hello, today I will be showing you all of my empty products. The purpose of this post is to let you know how the products worked. I will give a mini review and some information about everything posted. Continue reading to see what I liked and didn't like.
My first empty product is Maybelline's Super Stay 24 Hr. concealer. You can buy is concealer for $8 at most drugstores. Here are the claims of this concealer.

SuperStay 24 Hour Concealer provides natural-looking coverage that lasts all day
  • Conceals imperfections, flaws, undereye darkness and circles✔️❌
  • 24-hour wear, No Transfer❌
  • Oil-Free, non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested, fragrance-free✔️

  •   This concealer is ok at concealing under eye circles. When I apply the concealer it looks nice but after a while it will crease and look unnatural. So I don't really use it under my eyes anymore. When it comes to covering imperfections, I think the coverage is medium. Which is good if I'm wearing a full coverage foundation but I expect more from my concealers. I also think this concealer can be hard to blend. It's easy to look cake-y if you apply too much. When blending, I prefer my concealer brush over my finger for a more natural look. One thing that I love about this concealer is, it doesn't break me out. Which is so good for my acne prone skin. Overall, I recommend this concealer for people who need only light coverage.

Will I repurchase? No, I think I will continue on my concealer journey. I feel like I can find a better concealer with higher coverage, while still not breaking me out.

What is TaylorPie's rating? 3.5 out of 5 stars

My next empty is Johnson's baby oil. I use this for extra moisture and other various reasons(this weeks tip). You can buy it for just under $4 at any drugstore. Here are the claims of the baby oil.
    • Locks in up to ten times more moisture on wet skin than an ordinary lotion can on dry skin✔️
    • Use to soothe and relieve dry, rough patches✔️
    • Leaves skin glowing and baby soft✔️
    • Clinically proven mild✔️
Johnson's baby oil provides better moisture than any lotion I use. You really can't out do this product in the moisture department. It's perfect for using on my elbows and feet. All of my rough patches will soften and eventually disappear.  The smell is amazing, it leaves you smelling like a clean baby. I recommend this to anyone who has dry skin. Baby oil is also great for other things. I will post a tip this week for another use of baby oil. Trust me, it will change your life.

    Will I repurchase? Yes!

What is TaylorPies rating? 5 out of 5 stars!

My next empty is Head & Shoulders dry scalp care shampoo. During the colder months my scalp gets dry and flaky. Head & shoulders always takes care of that problem. You can buy it at most drugstores and it costs $7 for 23.7 FL oz. Here are the claims of this shampoo.

    • Improves scalp health in 2 weeks. ✔️
    • Dual-action formula with almond oil helps relieve dry scalp and itch, while providing extra conditioners for your hair. ✔️
    •  Gentle and pH balanced for everyday use, even for color or chemically treated hair.  Dandruff shampoo that keeps hair clean, beautiful and 100% flake free✔️
    • 7 Benefits:  Fights dry scalp✔️,calms itchy scalp✔️, relieves irritation✔️,  reduces redness✔️,great scent✔️, controls flaky scalp✔️ and leaves hair looking beautiful✔️.

All of the claims are true. After each wash my scalp is not dry,  itchy, irritated, red, flaky and my hair always looks beautiful. My scalp inproved before the 2 week period. After the first wash I saw a difference in my scalp. I mainly bought this shampoo for dandruff and I'm so happy I'm flake free now. I don't have to worry about flakes falling on my shirt anymore. This shampoo gets a huge thumbs up! I do recommend this shampoo!

    Will I repurchase? Yes!

What is TaylorPie's rating? 5 out of 5 stars

My next hair product is Aussie aussome volume shampoo. This shampoo sells for $3 at most drugstores. Here are the claims.

    • For a "Flat" to "Fantastic" 'Do that Speaks Volumes✔️Aussome Volume, with essence of White Ginger, easily gives you a right proper "oomph."

    • Lift Up Your Locks for a Full Look that won't Fall Flat❌The Aussome Volume collection gives your hair a boost and helps you hold the looks you want.
I have a hard time keeping volume in my hair. So I bought this shampoo hoping it would help. After washing my hair looked like it had volume but a couple hours later my hair would fall flat. I also noticed my hair was a little dry when I used this shampoo. Needless to say, I probably won't buy it again. I don't recommend this shampoo but I do recommend their deep conditioner. It leaves hair shiny and soft!

Will I repurchase? Not this specific shampoo from Aussie.

What is TaylorPie's rating? 2 out of 5 stars.

My first skincare product for this post is Clean&Clear essentials deep cleaning toner for sensitive skin. Clean&Clear did repackage this bottle so it looks different now. I'm not sure what the price is but you can find it at most drugstores. Here is the claim.
    • CLEAN & CLEAR®ESSENTIALS Deep Cleaning Toner for Sensitive Skin contains salicylic acid acne-fighting medication that treats and helps prevent pimples.✔️
Usually, I don't use a toner that has alcohol but I made an exception for this one. I'm so glad that I did! This toner has helped my acne so much. Now that I have ran out my face is breaking out again(sad face). When using it, make sure you don't have a popped pimple because it will sting. Other than that though, the toner is sentive towards skin. I apply the toner twice a day all over my face with a cotton ball. If you have dry skin, I would recommend using it once a day or use a really good moisturizer. I do recommend this toner to anyone who has acne.
    Will I repurchase? Yes!
What is TaylorPie's rating? 5 out of 5 stars.

My next skincare product is Natures Cure Acne Treatment Vanishing Cream plus the kit it comes in. This cream comes in a package with acne treating pills from Walmarts website for $8.97. Here are the claims of the product.

Nature's Cure: 2 Part Acne Treatment for Females has tow parts. The first part, Internal Homeopathic Acne Medicine: Acne can be caused by internal imbalances due to diet, stress or hormonal changes, especially during monthly cycles. Nature's Cure tablets are a blend ofall-natural ingredients, which stimulate your body's natural defenses to correct these imbalances and to help stop acne where it can start. They do not increase sun-sensitivity and have no side effects. The second part is the Topical Acne Medication - Vanishing Cream: To clear existing blemishes, Nature's Cure has a colorless, unscented, greaseless, 5% Benzoyl Peroxide cream. Nature's Cure Vanishing Cream also contains aloe vera concentrate and allantoin to moisturize and soothe the skin.
  • Acne tablets and vanishing cream
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Safe and effective✔️

  • I love this kit! The pills help my acne so much and the cream is pretty good. Of course, I can't tell you if the medicine help my internal imbalances but my acne did look a lot better. My acne is caused from hormones, so if you have hormonal acne you might like this kit. It has great reviews and the price tag isn't bad. The cream is pretty good but I'm not sure if it really did anything extra. I don't really mind though, because either way my
acne is helped. I also want to say that it didn't cause dryness, so that's a plus. I do recommend this product but it won't completely cure acne for everyone. So don't automatically expect a miracle cure for your acne.

    Will I repurchase? Yes

What is TaylorPie's rating? 4out of 5 stars

My next product is e.l.f cosmetics Nourishing Cuticle Pen. You can buy this on e.l.f's website, eyeslipsface.com. Here is the description of the product.

Relieves dry nails and flakey cuticles in a convenient pen design. The Nourishing Cuticle Pen moisturizes cuticles effectively✔️ and the quick dry formula✔️ allows for a no mess application✔️.Fortified with Vitamins E, A, C, Pro-Vitamin B5 and Aloe, this fast-acting complex deeply hydrates✔️, nourishes ✔️and seals in moisture✔️. The key ingredients Avocado and Almond Oils help to condition nails and cuticles for improved appearance. The result is softer✔️, easy to manage cuticles ✔️and healthy hydrated nails✔️.

Anytime I have hard cuticles, I whip out this pen and easily apply the oils. It makes my skin softer, shiny,
and healthy looking.  It lives up to all of the claims and I am so pleased with it. The best part is, I got this for free with one of e.l.f's coupons. What a steal! I recommend it to anyone with damaged cuticles. The only downside is the pen seems to get dirty and fray out. However, I still manage to use it.

    Will I repurchase? Yes!

What is TaylorPies Rating? 4 out of 5 stars.
My last product is Nailene Perfect tips. I love using this when I do my nails. It makes the whole application process easier. All you have to do is firmly apply the strip on your nail, then paint and rip it off. It's so simple and convenient. I get a perfect tip everytime I do my nails. You can find this at most drugstores and it doesn't cost much.

    Will I repurchase? Yes!

What is TaylorPie's rating? 5 put of 5 stars.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Please keep in mind that these products do work for some people, just not me. Also, don't forget to vote in this weeks poll located at the bottom of my website.  Thank you, TaylorPie.

Why do I love E.l.f cosmetics?

I have always had a "thing" for beauty. Everytime I have a new makeup haul, I get this high. Makeup is my addiction but like other addictions, it's not cheap. I told myself that I shouldn't be spending all of my money on makeup. That's when I first branched out to E.l.f cosmetics. I was like a little kid in the candy isle and I had to have everything. Their products are so cheap and the quality is like high-end. When I searched for more information on this brand, I noticed I wasn't the only E.l.f crazed fan. I was so shocked that it took me this long to discover them. I mean, where was I? How can I just pass up a brand like this for years? Now that I do know of them I don't think I could live without them (materialistically). I truly feel like this brand is my makeup soul mate(haha).

E.l.f is the kind of brand that sincerely cares about their customers. They make it their mission to have affordable products. E.l.f believes every woman should be able to afford cosmetics and feel beautiful. Not only do they have fantastic prices but on their website they ALWAYS have a promotion going on. I have received so many free things from E.l.f. Cosmetics. My favorite promotion they have is when their entire website is 50% off. Usually I will buy $70 dollars worth of cosmetics but get it for $35. But Guess  what? When you spend $35, you get free shipping. That's even better! Please, someone tell me where else I can get a deal like that.

Now I'm not saying E.l.f doesn't have any flaws as a company. Sometimes their shipping can be slow. Maybe a product is damaged or missing. However, when E.l.f knows shipping will be delayed they send an email to inform you. If you do have a damaged or missing item, E.l.f will give you your money back and apologize. I feel like they respect me and I actually enjoy reading about their company. When they do come out with new products, I'm one of those girls that squeals like a spoiled kid.

I believe I will always buy makeup from E.l.f cosmetics. Of course, I do buy from other brands. I have more money now but I will continue to buy from them. I just wanted to express my feelings for E.l.f. I think everybody should give them a chance. Some people might think their cosmetics are poor quality because of the prices. Don't be blinded by that though, I once was and I regret being picky. Don't be that girl, go buy some makeup! 😊

Have you ever tried E.l.f? If not, then I recommend their beauty bundle. Every eight weeks you receive $40 worth of makeup for $20.

    Products I regret purchasing

P Hello, in this post I wanted to share with you the products that I regret buying. Below you will see a BB cream, foundation, blush, eyeshadow, gel eyeliner, stain gloss and two brushes. I have used these products for a few months and I have mind made up about them. I may not like these particular products but I do love all of the cosmetic company's. Don't be discouraged to try other cosmetics from their lines. Thank you for reading!

    * The products listed below might work for some people but with my skin they don't work. Please don't get mad if you do like these products.

                  FACE

                 Okay Fresh Effects BB Cream
I bought Olays BB cream (beauty balm) about 2 months ago for $13.99. The consistency is thick and heavy. It claims to have  skin-perfecting benefits to refresh, brighten, even skintone, hydrate, smooth, and protect for a flawlessly radiant look. It also has SPF of 15 for UV protection. You get 2.5 FL OZ(75 mL) with each tube. They come in two colors: fair to light, light to medium.

I have a few reasons why I don't like this BB cream. First, the smell is so strong. Every time I put this on it feels like I'm smothering my face with heavy scented lotion. Second, the coverage of the BB cream is too sheer. I can't get this product to cover anything like my other BB creams. Lastly, I don't think it provides as much moisture for my skin as other BB creams. I have tried this under foundation for extra SPF and moisture but it looked like an oily mess! When worn alone the only thing I notice is my dry acne is eccentuated. I will not be repurchasing this product.

                    Revlon Colorstay Foundation
Revlon colorstay foundation comes in two different formulas: oily/combination and normal/dry.  They both claim to be a long wearing coverage foundation. It's suppose to be a lightweight formula that won't cake, face, or rub off. The oily/combination formula comes in 20 shades and the normal/dry skin formula has 12 shades.

I know everyone raves about this foundation but I just don't like it. For some reason this foundation looks sooo cake-y on my face. I can use the smallest dot for a whole cheek and it just won't buff into my skin. It makes my acne look horrible! It does provide great coverage but it's not worth it looking like a cake face. I really do wish it would work for my skin. I have tried both formulas and they both do the same thing. I won't repurchase this and I probably won't even finish the bottle I do have.

E.l.f Studio Blush in Tickled Pink
This E.l.f blush was $3.00. I'm only referring to this specific color, which is tickled pink. I regret buying it because the pigmentation is really bad. I did I really heavy swatch for the photo above and you can hardly see the blush. I am so disappointed with this blush and I won't repurchase this color.

E.l.f Brightening Eye Color in Luxe

Arn't the swatches really pretty? I thought so too. This Luxe palette has beautifully pigmented colors but you can literally blow it away. They are so powdery and rub off so easy. Everytime I try to wear them they just crease. That's what you get for a $1 product though. I will probably keep it to wear if I'm going to the store but I won't repurchase it.

                                                  E.l.f cream eyeliner

E.l.f's creamy eyeliner costs $3. This eyeliner is creamy and easy to apply. However, everytime I wear it, it transfers to my brow bone. When I stopped using it and tried Essence's gel eyeliner, I didn't have that problem anymore. So I won't be repurchasing this product.

    Maybelline Superstay 10 Stain Gloss in 140 & 180
Maybelline's Superstay gloss claims to last for 10 hours but I only got one hour out of this gloss. It looked nice for a while but I noticed it wore off unevenly. However, that's not even the worst part about this gloss. The smell is AWFUL! I can't even stand to put this on and I will never open the tube again. I don't really understand why they even call it a gloss, the consistency of this product is VERY runny.  Maybelline must have agreed with me too, because this product was discontinued.

E.l.f Professional Total Face brush and Blush brush
I love E.l.f brushes but the Total Face and Blush brushes are not my favorite. On both brushes the bristles are so harsh on the face. When I do use these brushes I notice I get hairs all over my face. The Studio line is so much better for face brushes. Try to stick with the brushes that have a black handle and you will be amazed with how good they are!

    * The products listed above might work for some people but with my skin they don't work. Please don't get mad if you do like these products.

                         Foundation stick review

I have Ivory( the lightest color)
Snatched on my hand it's very creamy and easy to blend.

For application, I put two lines on my cheeks, nose, forehead and my jawline. For smaller areas, like my temples and chin, I put a dot. Then I went in with my Real Techniques Sponge and blended everything out. The first layer didn't provide much coverage. So, I applied another line in my problem areas.

When I was done blending everything out, I noticed the foundation highlighted all of my dry acne. So, in the future I will be sure to exfoliate before using this foundation again. With two layers, I thought the foundation looked a little cake-y. E.l.f also claims you can build the coverage but I think at best it's a medium coverage. A couple hours later the foundation did get oily in my T-zone. So people with dry or oily skin probably won't like this foundation. I would only recommend it if you have normal skin. I will not be repurchasing this product.

    Pros:  easy to travel with
                Easy to store
                Easy to apply
                Smooth consistency
                Price
                Packaging

    Cons:  cake-y after first layer
                 Bad coverage
                 Highlights imperfections

    Taylor's rating: 3 out of 5 stars
    Will I repurchase? No

                       Daily Moisture Stick review

I would like to point out that it comes with a cap to keep the stick fresh.
I love this moisture stick! E.l.f did a fantastic job with this product. It's so easy to just throw it in my purse and apply moisture to my dry spots during the day. If you have dry under eyes you will love this to pat under the eye and continue the rest or your day. I also use it before I apply my makeup for extra moisturization. I definitely recommend this product.

    Pros:  easy to use
              Easy travel/store
              Very  moisturizing

    Cons: none

    Taylor's rating: 5 our of 5 stars

Hello, today I am reviewing the Matte Lip Colors from E.l.f. They come in a jumbo pencil with a twist top. They're easy to use and you never have to sharpen them. They claim to be long lasting and have vitamins A, C and E for hydration.

How many Matte Lip Colors do they sell? 6 colors.

How long do they last? Four hours

Are they sticky? They have a slight tacky feeling but I don't think it's enough to bother anyone.

Do they stain? They don't claim to stain but I do think they leave a color on your lips after the product is gone.

How much do they cost? $3 each

How much product do you get?  SIZE 0.06oz/1.8g

Do I need a sharpener? No, they are a twist up.

How many stars are they rated? 4.0 out of 646 reviews.

How moisturizing are they? They provide some moisture but I think they always need a Chapstick underneath.

Do they bleed outside the lip line? No they do not.

What are the ingredients? Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Synthetic Beeswax,Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Ozokerite, Polyethylene, Ceresin, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Polyisobutene, Aspartame, Retinol (VA), Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (VC), Tocopheryl Acetate (VE), Phenoxyethanol, Ethylparaben,Propylparaben, Methylparaben. May Contain:Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492,CI 77499), Blue No.1 Lake ( CI 42090), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Red No.7 Lake (CI 15850), Red No.27 Lake (CI 45410)

               Long lasting
               Convenient packaging

Cons: Some of the Lip Colors have faulty packaging.
                Limited colors

    Taylor's rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Will I repurchase? Yes, some of the colors.

    Top left:Natural  Top right:coral
Bottom left:Tea rose  Bottom right:Rich red

Note: Below I swatches the Lip colors on white paper, so that you can see the true color of the products.

Tea rose is more of a nude color. It seems to make my lips look dead. It reall washes me out and I don't think I will repurchase this color.

Natural looks the same as Tea rose when applied to the lips. It make my lips look zombified and I won't repurchase this color.

Ok, Coral is a nice color but I had a faulty package this time. However, I did manage to pop it back in place. Obviously, Coral is a coral shade and it's very pretty on the lips. I will repurchase this summertime color!

Rich red is not a true red. It shows up on my lighter skintone as a pink red.  It's my favorite color that I have from this collection and I love it! I love how I can control the intensity of the red when I build up the color on my lips. I will repurchase this color when I run out.

Overall, I think these are great products. I don't love all the colors but that doesn't mean the formula isn't good itself. I hope they do come out with more colors because most of them are nude, which I don't like. I hope you found this helpful and plan on trying Coral and Rich Red. Thank you!

    E.l.f essential smudge pot

Hello, for today's post I am reviewing E.l.f's  essential smudge pots. They retail for two dollars and they come in 9 different shades.  They have a gel consistency and can be worn as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. They are long wearing and don't crease(I wear eyeshadow primer). Also, they have vitamin E to hydrate the eye area. I have four out of the nine colors and I'm mostly impressed with them. Continue reading to see individual swatches.

How many colors are there? 9

How much do they cost? $2 each

From left to right: pearls of wisdom, ain't that sweet?, brownie points, gotta glow.

Pearls of wisdom comes off as a lighter shimmer shade. I like to apply it to my inner eye for a highlight. If I avoid rubbing my eyes this color WILL stay put all day. It's easy to apply with a brush or your fingers. However, I think the pigmentation is better with your fingers. Overall, I'm glad I have this color and I do not regret buying it.

Ain't that sweet is a shimmery soft pink. I'm not that impressed with this shade. It has great staying power but the pigmentation just isn't there. As you can see compared to my Maybelline inked in pink, ain't that sweet isn't a strong pink color. I don't use it for a highlight, I already have pearls of wisdom for that, so I say pass on this shade and buy the Maybelline's inked in pink if you want a better pink shade.

Brownie points is a nice shimmery brown. It is the darkest brown in the collection and looks a little coppery. It is by far my favorite shade I have so far. The pigmentation is spectacular and looks awesome on the lid. This color is a must have for your collection.
Gotta glow is a shimmery yellow gold color. I don't have too much to say about this color. It is Nicely pigmented but I don't think it's a must have. If you are shopping during a 50% off sale, then I say pick it up.

Overall, I think the smudge pots are great. The staying power is insanely awesome for two dollars. The price tag is a steal. They do have five more colors a purple, blue, grey and two brownish colors. If you're looking for rich opaque colors, then you should probably pick the darker shades. The lighter shades seem to be mostly shimmer and don't show up as good. I think they are great options if you don't want to pay more money for the MAC paint pots or the Maybelline color tattoos. I don't regret buying them but I do prefer my Maybelline color tattoos over the smudge pots. I do think brownie points is worth every cent, though. If you want to buy some, I think it would be better to start out with the darker shades and see how you like them.    Thank your for reading my blog post, taylor.

    ELF essential loose eyeshadow

Hello, I hope you're having a beautiful day today. I have my first post to share with you and it's from my recent ELF haul.  During ELF's 50% sale, I purchased the loose eye shadows from their essential line. Normally, they would cost $2 but I snagged them up for only $1! On their website, the eye shadows only have  2.9 stars out of 5.  For the price I think they deserve 4 stars. I don't like them for all over he lid but they are great for the lower eye. For a more nutural look, I like to use peach pie or honey blended on the lower lash line.  No matter what kind of look you are going for, I think you can use any of the shades to get a beautiful eye combination.

How is the staying power? They will stay put most of the day with an eye primer.

How strong is the pigmentation? The colors are opaque , excluding lilac.

How sturdy is the packaging? The packaging could be better but it's fine for the price tag.

How much eyeshadow does it come with?  The ELF website doesn't say.

What are the ingredients? Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Polybutene, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tridecyl Trimelliate, Ceresin, Bisdiglyceryl, Polyacyladipate-1, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Synthetic Beeswax, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Ultramarine Violet (CI 77077), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090), Tin Oxide (CI 77861), Chromium Oxide Green (CI 77288).

Starting from the left the names are- pear, lilac, pansy, blue icing, peach pie, honey and black licorice.

Up close you can see the sponges are very soft. All you do is open the eyeshadow and you already have he pigment on the sponge. It's quite simple and travel friendly. Also, if you can't tell, all the eyeshadows are shimmery.

    Final thoughts
I will probably repurchase most of the colors if I run out. I find it so convenient that I don't need brushes for this eyeshadow. I can throw it in my purse for touch ups or use them for my eyeshadow when I lightly travel. I think they are well worth two dollars and I don't regret trying them. I hope ELF continues selling these unique eyeshadows and I think everyone should at least buy one to try.
