Physicians Formula CC Curl & Care Mascara review and photos

Hello, I hope you're having a great Monday! To start of the week I will be reviewing Physicians Formula organic Wear CC Curl & Care mascara. I will write all of my thoughts and show you before & after photos. Also, don't forget to vote on my two current polls. The first one is located at the top right side of my blog and the other is at the very bottom. If you have any questions about this mascara you can either comment or go to my contact page and send an email. Thank you!

Description:
Curl & Volumize. Condition & Nourish. 100% Natural Origin. 100% Recyclable Sculpting Brush. 24 Hour Wear! 1st Ever CC Curl + Care Mascara. Curl Booster Technology. First ever 100 percent natural origin lash extension fibers for the false lash effect without the irritation of synthetic lashes.

Claims:
  • Hypoallergenic, Non-Comedegenic, Dermatologist approved
  • Fragrance-free, Gluten Free, Paraben-free

You can buy this mascara for $10 at most drugstores. This specific formula is for curling and care of your lashes. Two colors are available- Black and Ultra Black. I will be reviewing the Ultra Black for this post. When I first applied this mascara I noticed how small this bristles are. It's hard to pick up any product and somehow the bristles hurt my eyes. It feels like my lashes are being poked and tugged at. The formula is also very drying. When applied, the mascara is very flaky and it doesn't apply evenly. I end up the with little flakes at the tip of my eyelashes. When I tried to swatch the mascara on my hand, I literally had to vigorously scrub the wand on my hand. I posted a picture below for you to see.

Here is a picture of the wand. The wand has a curve shape and the handle is a decent size. Like I said before, the rubber bristles are tiny and pokey. In person you can even see the actual color of the bristles(green) because the formula is so dry that it doesn't attach to the wand properly. The only thing I like about the mascara is it's easy to get my bottom lashes with the tip of the wand.  Keep reading to see a before & after pictures when I used the mascara.

The first photo is my bare eye. In the second photo my lashes have one coat of the mascara on. I didn't like the results, so I applied another coat. The second coat (3rd picture) looks a little better. My lashes have a better curl but it's really flaky. As you can see the mascara isn't very volumizing or lengthening. It doesn't claim to be either one but I just expect more from my mascaras. Another con about this mascara is the smell. The mascara smells old or something. Maybe I just bought an outdated mascara. However if I didn't, I don't understand why Physicians Formula would even release it. If you have tried it let me know your thoughts, please. I won't repurchase this product but I do like a lot of Physician Formulas products.

Pro's
  • Cute packaging
  • Affordable
  • Easy to apply to bottom lashes

Con's
  • Bad smell
  • Curl doesn't last
  • It's not lengthening or volumizjng
  • The wand is painful to use
  • It's flaky
  • Dry formula
  • The wand doesn't pick up enough product

NYC city proof Twistable lip color review

Hello, here is a look at NYC's new City Proof Twistable Lip Color. With these bad boys, you get smooth intense color and they only cost $2.99. What a steal! They have a long lasting glossy finish and come in 12 different shades.

Where can I buy them? Our local drugstore. I bought mine at Riteaid

How much do they cost?$2.99 each

Do they have a scent? Yes, but it's not overwhelming

How long do they last? 2 hours

Are they sticky? A little but it depends on how much you apply

Do they stain? No

Do I need a sharpener? No, it's a twist up.

How moisturizing are they? Very Moisturzing

Do they bleed outside the lip line? No

How many shades are there?12 shades

I have five of the new colors: Riverside Rose, Roosevelt Island Red, Ballroom Blush, Fulton St. Fuchsia and South Ferry Berry. Below I have all of the colors swatched on my arm starting with Riverside Rose at the top by my wrist.

                    Riverside Rose
Riverside Rose is a nice color if you lean to the more natural side. You can wear it sheered out as a nice nude with a mauve tone or build the color for your rosy mauve shade. I like to use it when I need a nutural shade to tone down my look. I do recommend this color.

                    Roosevelt Island Red
To me, Roosevelt Island Red looks similar to blood.  I'm not too crazy about this shade but if you're looking for a lighter deep red then I recommend this color.

                    Ballroom Blush
I love Ballroom Blush! It's a beautiful bright pink and it's perfect for the spring/summer time. It's even brighter in person than the picture. So if you want a flirty pink then I recommend this color.

                    Fulton St. Fuchsia

Fulton St. Fuchsia is the perfect Barbie pink! I love to wear this shade when I want to bring out the girly side of me. The picture just doesn't do the justice for this shade. I definitely recommend it.

                     South Ferry Berry
South Ferry Berry is very similar to Ballroom Blush, except his has more of a Berry color to it ( hence the name). Don't be fooled by the color on the packaging because it looks way diferent swatched on skin. I expected it to be a deep color but boy was I surprised when it turned out to be a Berry pink. I do recommended this shade though, it's very pretty.

Overall, I think NYC did a great job. The City Proof Twistable Lip Colors are so inexpensive and worth every cent. Not only are they creamy but you have so many shades to choose from! Anyone should be able to find the right color for them. I plan on going back to the store to snag up the rest of the shades.   I am so impressed with NYC right now!
