Weekly tip, Beauty News and Nail Color of the Week

Wow, it has been such a long time since I posted for this series. I don't always have any beauty news or even have my nails painted when this post is due. Frankly, I even forgot about this series until I actually had two new "beauty news" stories I wanted to tell you all about. This weeks isn't the exciting one but next weeks will be interesting. Trust me you'll want to know about it too.

Weekly Tip
Do you ever feel like your eyeshadow doesn't look at neat as the pictures you see on Instagram? Does it look choppy or perhaps, all of the colors blend into one shade? It could be the amount of pressure you use.  Instead of holding the brush by the bottom the the ferrule hold it from the end. This way you're not applying so much pressure while blending. Your eye shadow won't look as chopping and the shades will blend like they're suppose to. If it's still not working out, try to blend the edges of each shade isnstead of the whole shaded area. It's important to blend in the correct spots(depending on the look).

Beauty News
There's a new product out from Tarte Cosmetics! Their new Tarteist Clay Paint Liner comes with the price tag of $24. It is said to have a thinner consistency similar to that of a liquid liner but still preform like a gel. It can currently be found exclusively on Sephora's website. No worries if you don't have a brush. This liner comes with a high quality brush with every single purchase.

What it is:
An innovative, waterproof cream eyeliner with a unique blending tip that is inspired by an artist’s palette.

What it does:
Think outside the lines when you define eyes like a pro with tarte’s clay paint liner. Inspired by the ease of an artist’s palette, this one-of-a-kind, squeezable cream liner offers a seamless, no-budge application—simply squeeze, line, and define. The unique formula features fewer waxes, cushioned pigments, and a special development process that allows for the creamiest texture and smoothest application. The tube was created with an innovative artistic delivery system, a tapered tip, and a flat blending stage so you can simply pick up the ideal amount of product and blend for foolproof perfection. The sketcher-angled bamboo liner brush easily glides the plush, triple-black, formula along the contours of the eyelid. Featuring the same waterproof, 12-hour wear as tarte’s signature clay pot liners, this next-generation liner has cushion slide technology that lets you custom create your own signature lines without ever pulling or transferring.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
This product is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested.

Nail Color of the Week
Ok, it's not really a nail color but instead a nail product.... This week I'm wearing Jamberrys exclusive Mystery Hostess design. It can't be purchased online but there are many, MANY shades available to purchase. Presently, I'm testing them out to see if their worthy of your money. And I have to say so far so good. They claim to last for two+ weeks and I'm only four days in. I will be sure to write up a review and tell you my sincere thoughts. But I can pretty much promise you that I will love them!

Are you going to use this weeks tip?

Beauty Awards: 2014 Eyes

Hello!
In my main post, "Beauty Awards: 2014", I stated that my plan was to talk about the products in each category. As you probably know, this category is Eyes. In this post you will find out why the products chosen are the best of the best. If you have any questions about anything, just let me know in the comment section below.

Eyes

Eye primer

Highend: Lorac Cosmetics Behind the Scenes eye primer
I almost chose Urban Decays Primer potion for this one but it's too drying for my skin. So I'd ecided to go with Lorac's Behind the Scenes eye primer becuase it does everything it's suppose to without drying my eye lids out. It keeps my makeup from creasing and helps eyeshadows be more vibrant. Plus this stuff lasts forever. I haven't even needed to buy a full tube yet. I have been using sample sizes from their palettes. They last for months!

Drugstore: E.l.f eye primer
E.l.f's eye primer is somewhat similar to Urban Decays, just not as good. However, it's great for the price. It will keep my eyeshadow in place all day long. If I ever do run out of primer, this is the first one that comes to mind if I need to purchase one in a jiffy.

Eye Shadow palette

Highend: Lorac Cosmetics Pro Palette
There's no doubt in my mind that the Lorac Pro is the best palette out there. I reach for it when I want a natural look, smoky eye, and even when I'm using other palettes that are missing basic shades. The eyeshadows blend like butter, they're extremely pigmented, they stay vibrant all night long and the palette is put together so well. What's not to love? Every shade that you need is in that palette. We can't forget about the price. $42 is a steal for a beauty like that and their primer is included!

Drugstore: Bh Cosmetics eyeshadow palette (any of them really)
Bh Cosmetics has wonderful eyeshadow palettes. When I'm looking for a daring look I always go for their Eyes on 60's, 70's or 80's palettes. They are pigmented, vibrant and inexpensive.

Single eyeshadow

Highend:Stila Single Eyeshadow in Kitten (favorite because of Kitten)
Kitten from Stila is a GORGEOUS eyeshadow. It's so (sooo) creamy, highly pigmented, pleasingly blendable, and there are so many uses for it. I sometimes put it in my travel bag and skip a cheekbone highlter. Ain't nobody got time for two highlighters.

Drugstore: Makeup Geek Single Eyeshadows
Buttery. Pigmented. Blends easily. Affordable. Lots of shades. Ect, ect. Go get them. If I was doing a YouTube video, this would be one of those moments where I sit there in silence and give you all the "you need it in your life" look.

Cream eyeshadow

Highend: Mally Ever color Shadow stick
Looking for a creamy eyeshadow stick that doesn't budge all day? Go pick up one of Mallys Ever Color shadow sticks. They blend out easily, then once set, they don't move. Plus, they're very pigmented.

Drugstore: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoos
This is one of those cases where the drugstore out beats the high end brands. Maybelline's color tattoos are so amazing. Everytime I use one I'm blown away by its awesomeness. They are PIGMENTED. They don't just blend into nothing like some cream shadows. No, they stand out and they're like a tattoo. Do they blend easily? Of course! They're only $5 and you get a lot for your money. You need them in your life.

Gel eyeliner

Highend: Sigma Eye Liner Gel in Wicked
Sigma's gel liner is long wearing, creamy, smudge proof and wickedly dark. I really like this liner because it doesn't skip over my eye lid like some gels tend to do. It goes on really smoothly and stays there all day.

Drugstore: Essence Gel Eyeliner
Essence has the best gel liner. It's shockingly creamy, long wearing, lasts forever in the jar, and it's even more wickedly black than Sigma's. Best part is it's less than $3.

Liquid eyeliner

Highend: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
This liner is very pigmented and easy to apply. I really love the thin tip and how it locks into place all day.

Drugstore: NYC Liquid Liner
I love the wand on this liquid liner. It's so thin and precise. I'm able to achieve a wing with ease and it always looks great. It's super black and doesn't move for the remainder of the day.

Pencil eyeliner

Highend: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner in Black
This eyeliner is very creamy, pigmented, rich, blendable and smudgeable(before it dries)....BUT, it's not as good as Pixi's Endless Silky pen in Black Noir. Yet again, another instance when the drugstore beats highe end brands.

Drugstore: Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Noir
This eyeliner is like a gel eyeliner in pen form. Everytime I use it I'm just in disbelief of its creaminess. Not only is it extraordinarily creamy but it stays put all day. It so dark and smudgeable. I mean, just thinking about it makes me want to go smoke my eyes out right now. It's like black butter on a stick but desirable. If that makes sense? If not, let me make this clear for you all... You, your family, your friends and every girl on earth needs this liner. Amen!

Mascara

Highend: Too Faced Better than Sex
Ok, I'm going to do mascara a little different. I pretty much get the same affect from these two mascaras but the only thing that is different is the price. Both mascaras are pitch black, voluminous, lengthening, long wearing, clump resistant, flake free and transfer free. With this kind of mascara I don't even need false eyelashes.
Drugstore: Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black

Eyelash Curler

Drugstore: E.l.f Eyelash Curler
This curler is such a steal. It's sturdy and curls lashes like no ones business.

Brow Pencil

Highend: Anastasia Brow Wiz
Anastasia has the best colors in the brow pencil world. They look realistic and they're easy to move across the eyebrow. They'll stay in place all day and keep you in the brow game. It's easy to use and shape your eyebrows and the tip is the perfect size.

Brow product

Highend: Anastasia Brow Pomade
This is for the girls who don't have much eyebrow hair. It's the best product out there to fill in your brows without disappearing later in the day. Anastasia has many shades to choose from and the price is affordable. It's creamy, yet easy to use. It lasts forever and applies without having a tug-a-war. All you need is a good angled brush and you and your brows are ready to take on the world.

Drugstore: E.l.f Brow Kit
E.l.f's brow kit is my go to brow product. I have a lot of brow hair but I still like to define my brows and fill in a few spots. This kit totally does the job. It comes with a powder and wax. The powder is very pigmented and gives the brows a natural appearance. Sometimes I even use the powder as a crease shade. It's just that good! The wax helps keep the hairs in place and it works great to define the edges around the brow. It's a must have for girls who like to keep things natural.

Beauty Awards: 2014 Face

Hello!
In my main post, "Beauty Awards: 2014", I stated that my plan was to talk about the products in each category. The first category is Face. In this post you will find out why the products chosen are the best of the best. If you have any questions about anything, just let me know in the comment section below.

Primer

Highend: Stila One Step primer $36
Stila One step is a prestige primer that contains color correcting pigments. The first thing I notice when I apply this primer is how powerful the green correcting pigment is. When I'm having a really bad breakout I apply this primer and it helps calm down the redness before my foundation is applied. The next thing I notice is the extended wear of my foundation. I have a problem with my foundation breaking up all over my cheeks and chin. However, when I wear this primer my foundation doesn't budge all day long. This primer is seriously a miracle worker. The only thing I don't like is the price of it. So I don't use it all the time.

Drugstore: E.l.f Hydrating primer $6
Even though I have acne, I have very dry skin. Pretty much everyday I'll reach for something that provides  extra moisture for my skin and that special product is e.l.f's hydrating primer. It really helps my foundation go on smoothly and prolongs the wear of it. It's not quite as good as Stila's primer but it's the best from the drugstore.

Foundation

Highend: Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme $44
For so long I was on the hunt for the perfect foundation. When I saw this foundation on Ultas website, I was instantly intrigued. I'm so happy that I purchased it. This foundation provides a seamless full coverage finish. It lasts all day and does not break me out. Fortunately, i don't get oily in my T-zone it can, unfortunately it can cling to some dry patches. To fix that problem, just add some liquid luminizer to the foundation and viola, it's perfect for dry skin as well. I just can't get enough of this foundation. Plus, the packaging is so sleek!

Drugstore: Loreal True Match Lumi $12.99
I have very needy skin. My skin doesn't agree with a lot of drugstore foundations. Either they look to heavy, cake-y, too sheer, break me out, or seperate on my skin. Loreal's Lumi True Match is one of the only drugstore foundations that actually agrees with my skin. It doesn't seperate or look cake-y on my face. It lasts all day and doesn't cling to my dry acne. Most importantly, it doesn't break me out like a lot of drugstore foundations do. The coverage is medium to full but buildable. I highly recommend it.

BB cream

Highend: Skin 79 Oriental Gold BB cream $100
We all know that I have acne and I have never felt comfortable going in public with just BB cream on. However, this BB cream has changed my life, literally. Use to, I would have to go through the whole process of foundation and concealer. Now, I can apply two layers of BB cream and actually feel comfortable going out in public. Skin 79 Oriental Gold BB cream is a discontinued product but it's still available on Amazon. It has buildable medium coverge, its long wearing, moisturizing, applies smoothly, lasts for hours and gives the skin a beautiful appearance. I will always love this BB cream and I'm even hesitant to tell anyone about it. I would hate it if it sold out for good.

Drugstore: Maybelline Dream Pure with acne treatment $8.99
At first I hated this BB cream. I tried it for a week and didn't notice any difference in my skin.. Then after I stopped using it, I started to break out really bad. Why? This BB cream actually did help my skin. It helps reduce the amount of acne I have and provides a light to medium coverage while I wear it. The only thing I don't like is how it tends to stick to my dry acne. You definitely need to moisturize before hand. Other than that, it's a great drugstore BB cream. I especially think people with oily skin will love it. It would even be perfect for men who have problems with acne and would benefit from the coverage (due to the lack of self confidence).

Under Eye concealer

Highend: MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear concealer $20
I had a hard time choosing between Mac's pro Longwear concealer and Nars radiant concealer. The reason I chose Mac's is becuase it works great as an eye primer too. If your not worried about that, both concealers are high coverage, creamy, crease-resistant, Blendable and dependable. If price helps you choose, then go with The pro Longwear. It's only $20 and has a pump, which is also great for preventing bacteria growth.

Drugstore: Maybelline Isntant Age Rewind concealer $8.99
There are a lot of gems in the drugstore but nothing is as good as Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind concealer. It's  coverage packs a huge punch and the creaminess is divine. My under eyes instantly look brightened and I love the awake appearance it creates. It's also crease-resistant, lasts all day and the price is a steal. You seriously need to try this concealer. I promise you won't regret it.

Facial concealer

Highend: Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer $22
I love this concealer. It gives me medium to full coverage without looking cake-y. It doesn't clog my pores or fade away throughout the day. Bonus, it's not even that pricey.

Drugstore: Hard Candy Glamoflauge $6
Hard Candy's concealer is often raved about. Being only six dollars and having full coverage, it's bound to stand out in the drugstore. I personally don't think it provides "full coverage" but I do think it provides the best coverage from the drugstore. I can still achieve a full coverage look if I wear a full coverage foundation but then things tend to look cake-y. I suggest getting this concealer if you're okay with a Med-full coverage. However, if you want ultimate coverage, go to Ulta or Sephora and get yourself a high-end concealer. If you're on a budget, than this is your best bet from the drugstore. Worn with a natural looking foundation, it looks nice and lasts all day. It doesn't break me out or crease into my fine lines. Overall, it's a spectacular concealer for the price.

Translucent powder

Highend: Tarte Smooth Operator Clay translucent powder $32
This powder is the best powder I have found to diffuse the appearance of my imperfections. That alone is the reason why it's my favorite translucent powder so far! It gives me such a silky appearance and I can't get enough of it.

Drugstore: E.l.f Cosmetics HD powder $6
Having acne my whole life has taken a total on my face. E.l.f's HD powder helps create a soft look on my skin. It blurs out all of my rough edges, prolongs the wear of my makeup and keeps my makeup from separating. But I have to say the price is the best thing about this HD powder!

Powder foundation

Highend: Lorac Cosmetics Porefection Baked Perfecting powder $33
This lightweight powder helps keep my makeup set all day long and gives me a Poreless finish. It applies easily and doesn't break me out. It also helps provide extra coverage for my acne. Which is a must have in my life.

Drugstore: Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder $4.99
I'm sure by now you have all heard of this powder foundation. It's sets makeup amazingly, keeps oil at bay and it doesn't look cake-y.

Bronzer

Highend: Hula Benefit $28
Need a bronzer that doesn't break you out, look muddy, blends easily and can be used to contour? Hands down, This is your girl!

Drugstore: BH Cosmetics Bombshell bronze in Diva $5.95
First, I want to say this bronzer is NOT for contouring. It's way too warm. However, it gives a glorious bronzey glow to the skin. I love how soft it is but that can also be a bad thing if you're not careful. It can look muddy with a heavy hand. But if you apply it correctly, it's so gorgeous and blends in like a dream

Blush

Highend: Nars Orgasm $30
Everyone has heard of it, almost everyone has it and no one can live without it. Nars Orgasm is such a pretty shade to sweep across your cheeks. It blends easily, lasts all day and gives a subtle glow to the skin.

Drugstore: Milani Comsetics Luminoso $8.49
All of Milani's blushes are fantastic but Luminoso is just one of my favorite shades. It blends easily, lasts all day long and it's affordable. What more could a girl ask for? Oh Ya, a nice sheen on the cheeks.Which Milani has you covered!

Highlighter

Highend: Becca Opal $19-41
Another product that lives up to the hype. I don't have the powder form but I do have the liquid form. It's such a beautiful highlighter on the cheeks or all over the face. It's so pretty, I could shower in it. But damn that would be an expensive shower.  It applies smoothly, blends easily, doesn't break me out and the color is universal.

Drugstore: E.l.f Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls $3
This affordable highlighter gives a nice luminosity to the skin. It doesn't irritate my skin and the color is to die for!

Setting spray

Highend: Mac Fix+ $22
Guys, the hype is true. There are days when I put on way too much concealer and what comes to the rescue? That's right, Mac Fix+. It takes away the powdery look and leaves a beautiful canvas after a light spritz. The only thing it doesn't do is prolong the wear of my makeup. But that's ok, I have primer for that. Go pick it up!

Drugstore: NYX Dewy setting Spray $7.99
Nyx setting spray is pretty much the same thing as Mac Fix+. However, it doesn't take away the cake-y appearance quite as good but it does prolong the wear of my makeup. I use it daily and save the expensive one for parties, holidays, ect.
