Hey, guys! I wanted to give everyone an update on my acne. When I do updates I like to talk about what products I have been using, including makeup and skincare, what I have been eating and some of my current habits. I'll also include a couple pictures of my skin. Don't be thrown off by the lighting! Some pictures are taken in my bathroom and others are in natural lighting.

Keep in mind I have a lot of scarring and not every red dot is an active pimple. I actually have a lot more spots than I do raised pimples.
Please, no rude comments! I'm obviously aware I have acne, lol.
October 2014

I think this is the best my skin has ever looked even though it was super dry. Around that time I was using the GlamGlow Clearing Treatment Mask and had great results. However, I stopped using it because it's $70 a jar and my skin was getting too dry because of the weather. What college student can afford that? But I think my acne clearing up also had to do with my stress level. During that time I was visiting family, it was my birthday and Halloween was coming up, so I was relatively stress free. The makeup products I used during that month included a discontinued BB cream by Skin 79, Dermablend Smooth Indulgence concealer, and E.l.f's HD powder.

The pictures above are just a few weeks ago. I don't really remember being stressed out at that time but there was obviously something going on with me(so I must have been?). I also believe it's the food I was eating that week. You know, things like cookies and chips. Makeup wasn't the cause because I didn't wear anything that week and if I did it would have only been one day. After that week my breakouts did die down a little bit.

This is what my current acne looks like. My skin is starting to get oiler since its warming up outside. Usually my acne isn't as bad during the summer but really it all depends on my hormones and stress. In the picture it looks like I'm broke out really bad but it's mostly red spots from last months breakout(March pictures). This month I have been drinking more water and eating healthier. I stopped drinking milk because of the hidden hormones. I also stopped eating processed food, yay for veggies! Another new thing is more exercise. I'll admit that I'm not the best when it comes to exercise but I'm making the change. They, whoever "they" is, say exercise helps manage hormones and I have hormonal acne...so let's see how that works. For makeup I've been wearing a full face maybe once or twice a week. The Loreal Lumi foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte powder and Dermablend Smooth Indulgence concealer have all been my go to products. I also switched my cleanser and moisturizer this month to Cetaphil's Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Cera Ve AM SPF moisturizer. So far I'm really liking them! I feel like the Cetaphil's cleanser is gentle on my skin and doesn't irritate it.
It's been a while since I did an acne update. To be honest, I'm not sure if anyone cares or reads this but I'm going to post my progress anyways. I think it's useful for anyone who's wanting to compare my acne to theirs for makeup related reasons. It also helps me keep an acne diary on my blog. Maybe I'll throw this post together every three months. Thanks for reading!
