Hey, everyone! Today's post is a quick review of Lorac's Alter Ego Lipstick collection. It can be found at kohls for $35. There are 5 matte lipsticks included from the pernamnet Alter Ego lipstick line. Usually each individual lipstick costs $16 but in this set each lipstick is cut down to $7 each... Wow, what a steal!
I decided to do a quick review since this is a late post. I planned on posting it early but the work of procrastination demolished that plan. I guess I just had other posts I wanted to write first. So, this one got kicked to the back of the bus, although it shouldn't have. This set isn't just a steal, the lipsticks shades are stunning and the formula is unique. Now let's get started!

Formula
I'm not going to lie, the formula is a little drying. You'll definitely need a good Chapstick before application. If your lips are usually dry, you might not enjoy the Alter Ego lipsticks. But if you're a fan of matte lipsticks I'm sure you'll love them! The pigmentation is INTENSE and true to color. The texture is smooth but not moisturizing. I'm a fan of matte lipsticks and I love them. I personally don't have chapped lips most of the time and the matte finish looks beautiful on my lips. Sometimes I even want to eat it! They smell like yummy vanilla ice cream.
Longevity
Do you know the feeling where you're afraid your lipstick has worn off and you might have a red outline around your mouth? Well, that feeling doesn't exist with the Alter Ego lipsticks. Their extremely long wearing. Like most lipstick lines, the brighter the shade the longer they wear. Duchess is the lightest shade and wears for about 5 hours with eating and drinking. The darkest, Free Spirit, can last a full 8+ hours with eating and drinking. All of the shades do have a tendency to transfer some at first but the color still stays true with that being said.
Packaging
The packaging of the Alter Ego Lipsticks is clearly nice. The tube doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. The twist mechanism in the tube works smoothly and accurately. The outside looks nice for display (I display them). The exterior is a metallic gold with Lorac written on the side. The shade of each lipstick is visible on the bottom of the tube (as well as the name). So it's easy to see which one to grab if you're looking for a specific color. To add an extra touch, Lorac even included the name of the brand on the actual lipstick itself. How neat!
Overall
I really, really, REALLY, like this kit. The shades are beautiful. My favorite is Seductress, it's the creamiest of the bunch. I actually don't hate any of the shades included but I do own Girl Next Door and hate it. Like I said earlier, the lighter(not nude) shades can look chalky but I didn't encounter that problem in this kit. So if your wanting to try the best lipsticks from the line, this would be your best bet. Plus, you get them in full size for half the price! $7 is great for a ultra pigmented, smooth, good smelling, and long lasting lipstick.
