New From Too Faced | Chocolate Bon Bons | Melted Chocolate Liquid Lipstick

You know what gets me riled up for my makeup routine? Freaking cocoa! Thank you Too Faced for having my cravings back and providing me with delicious makeup. I have some for my eyes, face and... Lips? Before we know it I'll be wrapped up in candy paper and shoved in an Easter egg.

Ok that's a little carried away but I know you get me. Too Faced is killing it with their cocoa infused line. I just can't get enough. Maybe sometime soon we'll have chocolate scented lipgloss?!

The first thing I want to talk about are the new liquid lipsticks. As you can see in the photo above, all of the new lipsticks are chocolate scented and colored. There's a variety of metallics and satin finishes.

Personally, I'm not overwhelmed with cravings when I look at the metallic swatches. They look inconsistent with coverage (patchy) and the thought of a mattalic brown on me makes me cringe. However, some of you may enjoy the chocolatey goodness!

What I'm excited for is Dark Cherries, Honey and Milkshake! They have a satin/gloss finish like the original melted formula. Now I can picture myself wearing those! The finish makes them more wearable and practical but I also think this formula of the chocolate lippies won't look as patchy. Although I could be wrong about the metallic formula. Are you going to buy one? I plan to purchase Chocolate Milkshake when I buy this next item in December.

I'm sure we have all heard of the chocolate bar palettes. Well now Too Faced has created a beautiful Chocolate Bon Bons palette with that same signature cocoa scent.

The packaging is a bit different but still cute. The outer package is pink with raised heart shapes. The inside also has heart shaped pans that hold the cocoa eye shadow powders. There are 16 matte and shimmer shadows. I'm assuming the price is going to be $49 like the other Too Faced Chocolate Bars.

The over all theme of the palette seems to include warm Browns, pinks and a couple shimmery golds.  I can not wait to get this palette. As soon as I do, I promise I'll post sneak peak swatches on here and of course a review later on after I thoroughly test the formula. The release date is 12-8 but I may have to wait until Christmas to get it just because my money is going towards other things right now. I will have it by the end of the year though! Will you?

Alright guys, that's it for now from Too Faced. Well unless you include their holiday releases but you can find those in this post here.  Let me know if you're going to try anything new from this Too Faced. And as always, don't forget to tag me on Instagram (@taylorpieb) of your new goodies!

6 Lipstick Shades I Regret Buying | Drugstore & High End

Don't you just hate it when you try on a lipstick and sadly regret the shade you bought? I think we all do. So I dug through my stash and picked the top 6 shades I regret buying. Just remember it's the shade I don't like. To be honest, I love the formula of every lipstick I'm talking about but sometimes the shades are down right ugly. Now, let's take a look!

High-End Makeup Starter Kit

Hey, guys! So today's post is a High-end makeup starters kit. It doesn't matter if you're a teenager or mother, this kit will work for almost everyone. I tried to pick products that will work on all skin types. Dry, oily, light, dark.
If there's a product that doesn't work for one skin type, then another will make up for it (dewy foundation, mattifying powder). I hope you find this post helpful! If you have any questions about a product listed below or a substitute(drugstore or highend), just ask!

Primer
Create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A & E, grape seed extract and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation, Smashbox's best-selling, oil-free primer helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish.

Review & Photos: Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit

With contour kits popping up everywhere like weeds, it can be hard to know which one to buy. I have been contemplating one which one I should pick up. Like most sugar deprived woman I lust after anything that smells like cocoa. When Too Faced released their Cocoa Contour kit I literally purchased it that day in hopes of getting my fix of chocolatey goodness... But of course in the form of makeup (hello, it's Too Faced!). So it's a win win situation,  right?

Too Faced Product details

Cocoa Contour gives you the power to enhance your most beautiful features and minimize the ones you want to hide in a few simple steps. This curated kit comes with the two essential sculpting shades, the perfect matte highlighter, and a luminous pop of light for a contoured look that never looks flat. Infused with our antioxidant-rich Exclusive Cocoa Complex, the powders blend seamlessly and indulge you with a decadent chocolate scent. Features our Contour Buki Brush for the most professional sculpting effect.

MORE TO LOVE:

  • Universal set contains all the shades needed to take the guesswork out of contouring, sculpting and highlighting.
  • Exclusive Cocoa Complex is a proprietary blend of antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and moisturizing cocoa butter that work together to hydrate and smooth skin and boost your mood.
  • Achieve lifted cheekbones, look instantly slimmer or sculpt like an A-list celebrity.
  • Includes our signature Glamour Guide with three contour looks to get you started.
  • Too Faced Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer Jerrod Blandino was inspired to infuse antioxidant-rich cocoa in makeup while getting a chocolate facial at a Hawaiian spa. He learned of chocolate’s benefits to the skin and included the ingredient in Too Faced’s best-selling products.

Packaging
The packaging is very similar to other Too Faced products. The powders are housed in a square card board box with a magnetic closure. It is a little bulky but manageable. A decent sized mirror is also included for on the go. The four powders that are included inside are: Light Cocoa, Medium Cocoa, Dark Cocoa and Pop of Light. A small teddy bear bristle brush is also included. Unlike other palettes, I really like this brush. It's soft, small and it gets the job done right.

Consistency
The consistency is definitely smooth and creamy. I did notice some powder flying around in the pan but it'sjust because the product is really smooth. The only powder I'm not too crazy about is Pop Of Light but we will talk about that later in this post.

Application
Every powder included in this kit blends out so smoothly. Sometimes I have a hard time getting powders to blend easily over my acne but I didn't encounter that problem with this kit. Another problem with problematic skin like mine is patchiness, fortunately, the powders applied evenly.

Longevity
Light, Medium and Dark Cocoa lasted on my combination skin for about 7-8 hours before fading away. Pop of light stayed on my checks for a couple hours before navigating somewhere else on my cheeks.

Is this a good kit for contouring?
I think this kit is good for contouring if you have a light to medium complexion with neutral/ yellow undertones. Medium  Cocoa is the shade that I prefer for contouring. It's not as warm and acts more as a shadow than Dark Cocoa. Dark Cocoa is a little warmer and its best used as an overall bronzer to warm up my complexion. Light Cocoa is my favorite shade. It really helps brighten up my face, while still looking natural.

Light Cocoa
Best used for a matte highlight under the eyes, on the chin, forehead, and the bridge of the nose. It won't add any sheen but it does leave a flawless bright complexion behind. I also enjoy using it to set my under eye concealer. It keeps it from creasing and fills in my fine lines.

Medium Cocoa
Medium Cocoa is certainly the contouring powder of the kit. It's great for chiseling out the cheek bones for a nice lift. Of course it can be used anywhere for instant shadows. I enjoy contouring my nose, forehead and jawline with it as well. I'm really loving this shade because I can get a natural contoured look that blends out seamlessly, which is hard for me to do with my acne.

Dark Cocoa
Some people might beable to use this shade for contouring. Maybe if you have a medium to dark complexion and your typical shade for contouring is warm. But as a person with light skin I find it best as an overall bronzer.
To be honest, I was a little disappointed about how warm this powder was but I actually really enjoy it as a bronzer. It's great for a flawless bronzey glow. It doesn't look muddy whatsoever and it buffs into my skin so effortlessly. This could perhaps be my new favorite bronzer.

Pop Of Light
I'm really disappointed with this shade. Instead of having a nice glow like everyone is expecting, it has chunks of glitter. Not only is Specks of glitter migrating all over the face unattractive but the glitter enhances my acne. That's definitely not a look I want! I'm after the kind of highlighter that catches light on he high points of my face. Not specks of gold glitter that have moved down to my contour line. However, if you like chunky highlights, then you'll love Pop Of Light!

Overall
I really love this kit despite of the disappointing shimmery highlight. I get a beautiful matte highlight, contour and bronzer shade that smells like delicious cocoa. It's a little pricey but I feel like I can get my money's worth. I really enjoy having a highlight, contour and bronzer in one box. That makes it great for traveling and fast forwards my makeup routine by a few minutes.... It works really well if your complexion is fair but if your medium to dark+, then skip on it unless you think Dark Cocoa will work for you (some darker people have mentioned it working on their skin tone). Too Faced should really provide more options for people with darker skin tones(maybe a future release?). This kit truly is beautiful and I hate how a lot of people won't be able to use it. It's tradgic. But as a whole, this kit is certainly a hot product worth checking out!

Weekly Tip, Beauty & Blog News, and Nail Design of the Week

Hello! I just want to update everyone on my monthly All Star (favorites) post. I'm currently switching things up and I'm going to do that post differently. I wasn't really satisfied with that series and I decided that I should go ahead and change it. I've been skipping it every month for a while now but I will have a March All Star winner post up at the end of the month! But for now, enjoy my weekly posts! Thanks.

Weekly Tip

Small squinty eyes can be a bummer. But with the power of makeup we can take care of that on going problem. All you have to do is add a little extra of your favorite mascara to the lashes on the outer part of your eye. Doing so will add the illusion of wider eyes. If that's still not enough adding winged liner will certainly get the job done. When you look in the mirror your eyes will look wider and more awake than ever before.

Blog News

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks have always been a favorite of mine but sometimes they just don't fit within my budget. Especially when the shade is dupeable and I can save money in the first place. The other day I was testing out a new Matte lipstick from Rimmel and I couldn't help but think I already had this shade. It turns out that I do but it cost me $15 less than the high end version. So I'm proud to say I found a dupe for Too Faced Melted lipstick in "Berry". The dupe is called "Meteoric Matte" from Rimmel Londons Show Off Lip Velvet line. Take a look at the picture above and see the similarities for yourself.

Beauty News

Speaking of Too Faced, they just released their new spring line that includes 8 new gorgeous melted metal lipstick shades.  They are $21 on Toofaced.com. Are you going to purchase any? I might but I'm not sure yet.

Nail Design of the Week

How cute is this nail wrap design from Jamberry?! If you're interested, the name is Edgy. It's part of their new spring line that just released last month.

are you going to use this weeks tip?
Do you plan on purchasing any shades from the new Too Faced Melted line?

Sneak Peek of the new Too Faced Cocoa Contour kit

Hello! I'm sure everyone is excited about the Too Faced Cocoa Contour kit that was just released last week. When I recieved the email about it I was instantly intrigued and I had to have it. Right now I'm currently testing it out. I've only used this baby twice but so far I'm pleased with it. But I don't want to be stingy and keep the swatches from everyone. So.. Yeah, here's the swatches. Enjoy!

Pop Of Light (on wrist)

I should have a review up sometime next week. First, I just want to be sure if I truly like it. And yes it does smell like chocolate! Feel free to ask any questions about this kit.

Are you going to purchase the Cocoa Contour kit?
What do you think of the shades?

Beauty haul and mini reviews- Too Faced, Lorac, Clinique, NYX, Physicians Formula +more

There's is only one thing about the beginning of the year that is good, and that's new makeup. I have always felt like the first few months after December are cold and dreary but new releases just brighten up the beginning of the year. So of course I have done my share of damage and picked up a few of the latest things in the beauty world. I like to blame it on my blog and say I purchased everything to review but honestly, I'm a beauty junkie and I would have purchased everything anyways. Please tell me you have the same problem!

Not everything is new. I found some deals and picked up some oldies. I also needed to restock on a few things, including NYX's Dewy Setting Spray. The majority of everything is new, though. How exciting! I didn't go out and just purchase this in one outing. This haul is probably about two weeks worth. I ordered online and went to stores. To buy each product click on the price listed beside the name of the product.

Lorac Cosmetics Unzipped Gold palette $42- I have used this palette a few times and I'm majorly impressed. The shadows are smooth and rich. It doesn't take much to blend them out. There's one intense gold shade in the palette that resembles a pigment and I'm just blown away by how pretty it is. I will have a review of this palette  up as soon as possible.

Lorac Cosmetics Unzipped Cheek palette $30- I have only used this palette twice but so far everything is good. I want to go ahead and review the City Color Cosmetics blush palette and get that one out of the way. After that I'll post my full review of this palette around the same time as the eyeshadow palette. I have swatched it and the blushes are smooth and pigmented. When I wore the matte shade on the top row it lasted all day and blended out with ease. I'll just go ahead and give everyone a heads up and say the review is going to be good. So if you're dying to get it go ahead and purchase it! By the way it is exclusive to Ulta only.

Lorac Alter Ego Lipstick Collection Set $35- I'm trying to remember if I reviewed  this set already. I think I might have just posted a picture on Instagram. Anyways, I found this lipstick set at Kohl's for $35. It is Kohl's exclusive and it can't be purchased at Ulta. I have been dying to try the Alter Ego lipstick line for a while now but I always put it off for some reason but once I saw this kit I had to give in. Each lipstick is usually $16 and $35 for 5 shades is a steal. They are very pigmented and apply pretty easily. I did notice some tugging but overall I'm impressed with this matte formula. The thing that I love most is he wear time. The Alter Ego lipsticks are perfect for long nights out in town.

Too Faced Cocoa Contour kit $40-  I just got this palette in the mail the other day. I did swatch it and post some pictures on Instagram. So go check that out. As for the quality, I don't have anything to say just yet. I haven't actually applied any of the shades on my face yet but I can say they swatch beautifully, except for the highlight shade. It's a little chunky but I'm hoping it looks better once applied to the face. I should have a review up by next week and yes, it does smell like chocolate!

L'Oreal Infallible setting spray $16.99-  After reading so many reviews on this spray I had to pick it up. I used it once on Valentine's Day and I'm really impressed. Just from first impressions I noticed an extra 3-4 hours of wear and it kept everything looking nice until I washed my face.

Physicians Formula city Bronzers $13 in stores- Ok, I'm guilty. I bought the two city Bronzers purely for the prettiness of the product. Physicians Formula makes such cute products but don't get me wrong they perform just as good. I have used these two bronzers multiple times and all I have is good thoughts about them! I can't wait to share a review with you all.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer $27- Ah, another new thing that I'm excited about. I haven't tried it yet and I'm actually afraid that the shade I picked is too dark for me. Oh well, I guess we'll see. When I first opened the package I was shocked by how big the bottle is. I guess it's normal for a foundation but for some reason I expected it to be smaller. But then I opened the bottle and holy heck the applicator is huge! I don't really like doe foot applicators because of the whole bacteria concept but I still wanted to give this foundation a go. If I can I might try to find a pump for it. If I can't, I'll just apply he foundation to the back of my hand first I guess. Hopefully, I will have a review up within the next couple weeks. I like to take my time reviewing foundations because of my sensitive skin.

Milani Rose Blushes $7.99- Eeek, I had high hopes for the Rose blushes by Milani. I heard great things but they feel kind of cheap to me. The swatch really chalky but I haven't wore them yet. So I can't say how they perform on the cheeks. I'm actually kind of nervous because it feels like they have A LOT of Talc in them. I hope not! I guess the cuteness will be worth my time and money.

Milani Matte lipsticks $5.99- I already did a full review on these lipstick(click here for the review). Trust me, you need them in your life!

Physicians Formula Fiber Mascara $14.99- I really need to post a review of this mascara kit. I have been trying it for maybe a week or so and I'm in love. Even my friends and family noticed how big my lashes look! Maybe I will have a review up early next week.

NYX Tame and Frame brow pomade $6.99- Forget Anastasia's brow pomade. This is affordable, yet so good. I plan to do a quick review of this product at some point in the near future.

Dermablend Intense Powder Camo  $31- I only used this powder twice but so far it seems good. It does provide a lot of coverage but I think it might not be good for oily skin. I just need a little more time to test this powder out. It will probably be one of the products I review in a couple weeks.

Milani baked bronzer $9.99- This isn't a new product but I saw some people talking about it on Instagram. I haven't used it yet and I might not even do a review on it. However, at some point I will either throw it in a post somehow or let everyone know my thoughts on Instagram. But I'm always changing my mind, so who knows I might review it. When I swatched it I noticed a lot of shimmer (bad thing for bronzers) but maybe tapping the brush before applying will lessen the amount of shimmer transferred to the face. Perhaps it will be better for the warmer months only.

Tarte Tartiest Clay Paint liner $24- Dont you just love the name Tartiest! It sounds so cute to me but maybe I'm just weird. Anyway, I haven't fully put this product to the test but I can say it's easy to apply and the pigment is very dark. I actually thought the product would be bigger but I'm sure it will go a long way. I'll try to have a review up soon.

Maybelline Master Class correcting primer $9.99- I used this primer once and I'm in love! I didn't see much of a difference in the redness of my skin but it did make my foundation apply much smoother. My makeup also stayed on longer but that might have been because of the Loreal setting spay I'm currently testing out. Just to be sure I'm going to use it a couple more times without the setting spray. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Too Faced Melted lipsticks $21- I have always loved the Too Faced Melted lipsticks. The smell is divine and the pigmentation is always on point. I'm not going to do a review on them but I might do a swatch post of all the colors I have. The new shades I picked up are Melon and Chihuahua, and they are stunning!

Rimmel Velvet Matte Lip Lacquers $5.99- I have tested out about half of the shades from this line. I purchased them all and I'll post a review with swatches soon. To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about them. They seem nice but I'm not fully convinced that they're anything special. But let's just wait and see how everything works out.

City Color Intense Blush palette $7.99- Intense is the correct word for this blush palette. It should also come with a warning label that states "Warning, use a light hand or you'll look like a clown", but it doesn't so I'm telling you now. It's great and the price is right. Online it says the price is $7.99 but I found it at Five Below for $3. So I suggest looking there before you spend the extra $5 online (even though it's worthy of $8). I feel like I'm repeating myself... I'll have a review up sometime in the next couple weeks.

City Color Glowing Complexion Creme $6.99- Ugh... Do you know that intense powder smell that some makeup smells like? Well this smells like that but stronger. I'm so nervous to try this on my face but I'm also really curious about it. When I work up the courage to face the scent I'll write a revie on it. Wish me luck.

Cory Airspun Translucent powder $5.97- I got this powder becuase of Tati (Glamlifeguru vlogger). She swears by so I thought I would give it a try becuase it's so affordable. It's still sitting on my vanity. I sniffed it and was distraught by the scent of it. Hopefully when I have the time to test it the scent won't linger. I'll be sure to let ya'll know how it is in a post at some point.

Jergens Soothing Aloe lotion $4.97- If your skin gets really dry during the winter, pick this up. My hands get so dry that sometimes they look scaly and cracked. Jergens Soothing Aloe lotion is the only thing I have ever tried
that truly helps them. I just can't live without it now.

NYX Dewy Setting Spray $7.99- Repurchase! Nothing new but definitely something special. I love my Mac Fix+ but the NYX Dewy setting spray is much easier to get my hands on. Plus, they do pretty much the same thing. I'll use it to get rid of the cakey look from my foundation and boy does it works wonders. If you haven't tried it, you need to. The bottle is a decent size for the price.

Eco Tools Eye Perfecting Brush $6.98- Ok, I don't want to spoil the review so I'm not going to say much. This review is on my schedule for this Saturday and I like it. Now my lips are sealed.

Real Techniques Complexion Sponge $5.99- Just another repurchase. I must have bad luck because I already did something to it. I accidentally microwaved it too long and now it's deformed. Oh well, it still works just fine. It just has a nice curve to it. I really like this sponge for a natural look. It makes my makeup look less cakey and it's perfect for applying foundation on dry flakey skin. It's a must have and the price beats the Beauty Blender.

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte lipstick $5.49- I must have been living under a rock, I haven't even tried the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks. I have heard great things about them and when I saw they were on sale I had to pick up atleast one. I would have got more but all of the others were open. So I settled with one and I'm glad that I did. I'm really loving it.

Rimmel Nail Lacquer $1.50 in stores- Obviously, the 60 Second nail polishes are not new from Rimmel but I scored some for 50 cents each at Kmart. So if you love the formula like I do go pick them up before the sell is over!

I wish I could type up a review for every product on this list in short notice. Unfortunately, I have things to do and I have to put the products that are in high demand on my schedule first. If there is a product that you're extra curious about just let me know in the comments below and I'll try to move it up the review schedule. Thank you for understanding! If you're interest in swatches be sure to check out my Instagram. I typically post photos of my newest products in there.

Have you made a haul lately? If so what did you get?

Soft New Years makeup tutorial for young teens

One of my New Years resolutions is posting more makeup tutorials. But I am a blogger and right now their are many girls frantically looking for the perfect New Years makeuplook.  So I decided my resolution starts now. I decided to start with a softer makeup looked that is targeted for younger teens or for the girls who are shy when it comes to makeup. It's really easy recreate and you don't even need the same products I used. Just pick similar shades that you already have and you should be good to go!

Hope you enjoy this look and find it helpful! Have a wonderful and blessed New Year!

For the eye look you will need the following products.
  • I used the Lorac Mega Pro palette but all you need are the following shades: cranberry, shimmery vanilla, and a dusty rose to copy this look
  • White base (optional)
  • Urban Decay eye primer
  • L'Oreal voluminous mascara
  • Black eyeshadow for lining the eyes
  • And of course some makeup brushes (shader, blending, precision/pencil, crease, lining)
For the face I used
  • Loreal True Match foundation
  • E.l.f cosmetics Hd concealer in brightening
  • Physicians Formula face powder
  • Nars Orgasm blush
  • Benefit's Hula for Light contouring
On the lips
  • Chapstick
  • Too Faced Melted lipstick in Berry

Now let's get started!
  1. First, make sure you have a clean face. It should be washed, moisturized and prepped with any primers.
  2. After applying Urban Decays primer potion, take a a fluffy brush and lightly blend a cranberry shade into the crease. Be sure not to go too high above the crease. It's better to get it all over the lid rather than covering your brow none with the cranberry shade.
  3. Pick up crease brush and precisely apply the same cranberry shade in the crease. Start from the outer v and work your way into the inner v. But try to keep most of the cranberry shade on the outer v area.
  4. After you're finished with step 3, take a fluffy blending brush and blend out any harsh lines.
  5. Next, apply a white base to the lid of the eye for enhanced pigment for the vanilla eyeshadow.
  6. Take a flat shadow brush and dab the shimmery vanilla shade all over the lid. You can also use your fingers or a sponge applicator for this step.
  7. Again, go back in with your fluffy blending brush and blend any harsh lines from the vanilla shade. Sometimes it's needed to redo step 3 to enhance the cranberry shade and that's ok. But don't forget that you might need to be blend once again.
  8. Now, take a pencil brush and apply a rosy shade on the outer v to lightly smoke things out. Blend with a fluffy brush if needed.
  9. For lining the eyes use an angled eyeliner brush and a black eyeshadow. This will keep the look soft and avoid the harshness a tradional eyeliner can create.
  10. Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
  11. If desired, apply the same vanilla shade on the brow bone to enhance the shape of your brows.
  12. Then finish up with your foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush and lipstick. (I did it in that order)
I really like this look because you can change it up to a more bold look or tame it down. You can add definition under the eyes, falsies, winged eyeliner, or even add deeper Berry shades. The possibilities are endless with this look. I decided to keep the look soft becuase it was done on a 14 year old but when I wear this look I definitely vamp it up!
